What is the mileage on the bike? If it is close to the 55k to 60k km mark, your problem is most likely valve clearances. These will need to have the shims replaced.
Alternatively, as Satguy says, you may have a bad connection to the battery or the battery itself may be due for replacement. These bike will not run with a bad battery.
Check battery condition and especially the battery terminals. Check to make sure that the battery terminal bolts are tight, these bikes are sensitive to voltage fluctuations due to the fual injection etc.
If all is well with the battery connections, what about fuel? Has the bike been sitting for a while?
