Yes it sounds like one. OK, find your abttery terminals, one is marked in black cable and the other has a red sleeve near the terminal. Follow the red cabel to a box that contain a 30A fuse, see if this is blwon, which most likely. Replace fuse and now use a trickle charger as car batteries has toooo much amperage to jump start a bike. If you have another bike battery it is fine to jump start, never try using a car battery as many damages can happen. Once battery is fully charged ( normally in 8 hours) try again for your bike to start. Cheers. If good give a return comment please.

Why my car is dead after sitting for 3 days. when first hooked up jumper cables the interior lights came on then went off and wouldnt even turn over

If your battery is dead after 3 days it's probably getting stuffed or else you left something on. Anyway jump starting should work regardless. How good are your jumper leads? You need a pretty heavy set to start a car not those skinny things you get at super cheap auto stores. Hook them up and start car you're jumping off and run it at a high idle for about 5 min then try and start your car. That should put a base charge into your battery and it should go. If not buy a new battery.

Battery light won't go out. volts after charge is 11.9. ?????

Sounds like you need a new battery . It is not 12 volts . Try hooking your bike up to another 12 volt battery( you can use jumper cables) Warning: It is OK to jump a motorcycle from a car battery even if the battery is still in the car. DO NOT HAVE THE CAR RUNNING. OK TO JUMP, IF THE CAR IS TURNED OFF!!! Do not crank your bike too long , you could over heat the starter. Anyway hook up your motorcycle to a good battery and start your motorcycle to see if the battery light goes out.

Left my key in the ignition in the on position. Battery dead, Tried to charge by hooking up j cables to my car. Now no lights @ all

It's OK to jump your bike from your car battery as long as the car is not running. Both are twelve volt systems. However , if the car is running it might damage the bikes electrical system. It sounds like you may have just blown a fuse. Check the fuse box and keep your fingers crossed.

1998 Triumph Daytona T595,Batt died now Check Engine is on.

ok, first off is that when you "jump a bike" dont jump by car with engine running this can fry major componets second you can try the reboot but I do think you damaged one of the parts

Starting problems on my Motorcycle

Just because the lights work, doesn't mean the battery is good. Put a meter on the battery, try to start the bike, does the battery drop below 10 volts? if so the battery has weak cells.
If not, try jump starting the bike.
if this doesn't work, then using the jumper cables, if you can safely attach the positive cable to the starter solenoid and the negative to a bolt on the frame. If this works one of you battery cables is bad, if it doesn't you may need to pull the starter, and bench test it.

I hope this is of some help.

2006 Yamaha YZF-R6 will not start

try cleaning the battery terminals, check the battery voltage when you hit the starter, If you run it too long and it isnt charging a good battery you can damage the regulator again, same if you jump it off a car battery, it can cause damage

Strting problem on my wind 125

what else could it be? I'm with stupida dead battery WILL NOT be recognized by a battery tender thats why the light wont come on. Are you trying to jump the bike using a car that is TURNED OFF? You can hook the 2 batteries together and that will help equalize your bike battery enough that the battery tender will recognize that you are indeed connecting it to a battery or you can buy a battery charger and charge it for 20 minutes (or barrow one) which will be more than enough for the battery tender to recognzie the battery. *edit I should mention that the reason a battery tender wont recognize a dead battery is it must see (feel) electricity from the battery. I dont know all the exact properties as in what votage it must see but if it doesnt see it it thinks its not a battery. A charger will try and charge it no matter what it may be. I mean you connect a charger to a metal bar and it will try to charge it. oh if you hook the two batteries together im not sure the bike will start though it may. I have never tried it with a bike but at work we connect two forklift batteries together for 30 minutes and that gives it enough of a charge for our battery tenders to recognize that its charging a battery.,
