Just bought a 2000 flhst with 16000 miles . when you get out of it you can hear a whining sound coming from underneath , wtf?

    I don't understand your term "get out of it", please explain. Are you talking about getting off the bike or getting off the throttle? And be more specific about where the whining noise is coming from. Does is sound like it's coming from the right side of the transmission? How much freeplay do you have in the clutch. It could be a bad throwout bearing. As the clutch wears, the freeplay in the release mechanism goes away and the throwout bearing runs all the time. This thing is not much bigger than a dime and cannot withstand much of this and you need to adjust the clutch.

Engine noise at 2000RPM

sounds like a transmission, try to shift it to neutral after you reach 2000 rpm + and see if the whining will stop

this whine you hear does it cause you to loose power if it does have you ever change the transmission filter and trany oil it is supposed to be changed every 60,000 miles you can change it your self its is simple but messy so dont do it in your drive way

Whining noise from engine

Hello
altho new you may have a whining water pump or tensioner or it may be over tensioned.

take a long screw driver & place in on the timing cover to try to here where the noise is coming from, this should help you find the proplem with the car

The transmission pump can whine when worn out . The fluid can become aerated and cause a whining sound .
