Hello. I cannot find the specific error you are having. It is possible the wraps in front of the ink or the colors are switched, however unlikely.
Here are all the error codes for the printer, it will guide you through the problem.
Here is the manual.

HP7660 Photosmart Printer

It comes with HP #57 (C6657 A)—Tri-color print cartridge and HP #56 (C6656A)—Black print cartridge and the 56 must always be in there (the black one) but acceptable replacements for the color one are as follows: HP #58 (C6658A)—Photo print cartridge I suggest for the best photos use 58 and 56.

I have a HP 6656A Printer Cartridge that sometimes works good and other times will fail the power on check. Error message varies between Ink Cartridge not compatabile, Check Color Cartridge (even though...

I got hold of another set of 56 and 57 Ink cartridges. By swapping the four of them in and out of two printers, I determined that one of the Black 57 cartridges was bad and caused a missleading error message to pop up saying to check the Color 57 cartridge. I don't know why I was getting different messages at first, but after several swaps in and out of two printers, the error message finally became consistant and I learned that the one Black 56 cartridge was the faulty guy. One Color 57 cartridge printed good but the other (newer one) left streaks on the Cyan and Magenta colors even after soaking the head surface for a few minutes and cleaning it with inkjet cleaner fluid.
The end result is that I have one good Color 57 cartridge and one good Black 56 cartridge which work good in two different printers.

By the way, can you email a labled pinout reference drawing of the hp56, 57 & 58 Ink Cartridges???

  1. Turn on the HP Officejet, and lift open the print-carriage access door. The print carriage will move into the access area. Figure 1: Opening the print-carriage access door c00034766.jpg
  2. After the carriage stops moving, push down on the top of the print cartridge to release it, and then pull it toward you out of the slot. Figure 2: Removing the print cartridge c00034767.jpg NOTE: It is normal to see ink buildup in the print cartridge slots.
  3. Remove the new print cartridge from the packaging and gently remove the plastic tape by using the pink pull tab. CAUTION: Do not touch the copper contacts or ink nozzles. Aligning the print cartridges The HP Officejet will prompt you to align the print cartridges every time you install a new print cartridge to assure high-quality output.

  2. Place the alignment page face down on the left front corner of the glass with the top of the page facing the left side.
  3. Press OK . The HP Officejet will align the print cartridges and display Alignment Complete .

Hp photosmart 7350

The 7550 takes three cartridges 56(black) 57(tri-color) and 58 (photo).

If you replace the 57 but the 58 is also empty and still in its slot - you get green tinted photos.

So, check to see if you have the 58 photo cartridge still installed, and if it is out of ink. If so - remove the 58 - the printer will then default to "reserve mode" and you'll get better color.
