I replace brake lever and now rear brake light wont go off on 2003 yamaha road star

Adjust the light switch. It is located near the RH footpeg and is connected by a small spring to the brake lever. You may have forgotten to re=connect it when the replacement lever was installed.

I take it when you say gas you are refering to petrol . gas leake ,don't use your bike untill its been repaired, many bikes have burst into flames through gas leakes .Remember petrol does not burn its the vapour given of that catches fire .

SOURCE: I have replaced rear brake

it should be right behind the foot brake on right side you can follow the rear brake line to it should be under that side cover

Rear foot brake sticks own 2003 650 model xvs

There is always a spring that works as a return spring to pull the brake lever back up. Please check the brake pedal and see if this return spring is unhooked or broken. Do the needful when located.
