Air conditioning help

I have an LG window air conditioner..Water does not drain properly and builds up. My husband has to hold it tilted for almost an hour to drain water. How can I keep this from happening, or position it better in the window so it does not happen again..

Thank you

The heat pump fan never stops running. Whether using heating or air conditioning, after it cycles of the fan still runs

The A/C unit should be tilted back a little for proper dranage.
Also the drain line may be plugged. These are sometimes hard to find. The unit has to be taken apart to look inside behind the evap coil. Where the line comes through into the rear part of the cabinet. This can the be cleared with a straghtened coat hanger. lightly push the hanger into the drain line and clear debree. water will rush out if the line is blocked.

Water is building up in the front bottom of a Friedrich air conditioner window unit below the coil. Tried cleaning out the back drain holes but still building up. What else can I check? How does it drain...

John, good job on clearing the drip pan's drain hole. Now adjust the tilt of the rear of the unit to 1/4" to 1/2" downward tilt. Now the water will flow to the rear of the drip pan and out the drain hole more easily.

I hope this helped you and thanks for choosing FixYa.

Portable haier air conditioner drainage. Cannot find drain hole and unable to tilt ac. Water is building up in the bottom of unit.

Here is a thought, received by me from a AC mechanic recently. Window ACs no longer actually drain concensate. Rather, the water is caught in a pan with the idea it will evaporate back into the outside air. The reason for this is the dripping water frequently resulted in the growth of algae below the unit resulting is unsightly stains and sometimes, slippery conditions. Evidently, there were a lot of complaints about being 'dripped on' also. So, AC manufacturers don't put drain holes in the bottom any more. If the pan over fills, it will spill out of many makes. If you want yours to drain, put a hole in the bottom.

Like I said, just a thought.

Water builds up in Air condition and does not drain out...So when airconditon is turned off, the water drains inside home rather than outside. How do I fix this?

Check the filter and service it while your at it. You may have a drain hose with this unit if so it could well be plugged so you sill have to pull it to get to it and clean it out as well as the drain tray. If you donot havea hose then it just needs to be tilted to theoutside about 1 inch or so. hope this helps let me know Jon

My GE window unit air conditioner isn't blowing out very cool air,and it spits what

From what you have described, it sounds like the drip pan under the unit is full of water. This can be caused by the unit not being installed properly in the window. It must have 1/4' to 1/2" downward tilt at the rear. This allows the water in the drip pan, to flow to the rear and drain away thru the drain hole. Also, the drain hole may be clogged and needs to be cleared. The drain hole can be a challenge to find sometimes, as the clog can blend in with the hole. Be patient and persistent when looking for the drain hole. A pipe cleaner can be used to clear it.

I hope this helps and thanks for choosing FixYa.

Had my air conditioner in the window for a few months and now the water is spraying out at the front on the bottom help

This usually caused by high humidity and a build up in the condensation pan under the unit. Or the drain pan has a clog it's drain In addition, if the outside part of the unit is not sloped (tilted) down 1/2", to allow the water to run to the back of the pan it builds up under the front of the unit.

I had the WS10C10 installed over the weekend with the drain kit. The water is not going through the tube but instead its dribbling down the wall outside my building. What can I do to fix it?

Hello, make sure the unit is tilted back in the window so the water can drain through the tubing. If the unit is level it wont be able to drain properly.

Why does our LG air conditioning unit leaks? It's inside our room and the dripping water is damaging our wooden floor.. Please help.. thanks!

The drain is stopped up or the unit is not tilted back enough to drain out the back. If the drain is stopped up sometimes you can blow it out with compressed air from the bottom of the front coil. If the unit is not tilted enough in the wall or window it cannot drain out of the proper drain hole in the back of the unit. Hope this helps you.

Condensation buildup

Make sure the unit tilts towards the outside. If it's installed level or tilted toward front it will not drain properly.
