If you are just talking about the codes regarding misfires, this can be triggered by inferior spark plugs. Stick with NGK or Nippon Denso for this car. If you are refering the to an actuall feel of a misfire, double check all coils and wires for tracking which will be white trails that indicate an electrical leak and shorting to ground(the engine block). Let me know which one.

96 E250 300 ci Was running perfect then started missing Replaced vacuumed hoses, found 1 loose spark plug, and 3 that were finger tight. Replaced all 6 plugs.

If your 96 E250 300ci was running perfectly and then started missing and the code is indicating a miss fire in cylinders 1 and 2, there could be a few potential causes. Here are a few steps you can try to troubleshoot and resolve the issue:
  1. Check the ignition system: Make sure that the ignition system is functioning properly. Check the distributor cap, rotor, spark plug wires, and ignition coil for any signs of wear or damage.
  2. Check the fuel system: Make sure that the fuel system is functioning properly. Check the fuel filter, fuel pressure, and fuel injectors for any signs of wear or damage.
  3. Check the compression: A compression test can help to determine if the engine is getting enough compression to run properly. Low compression in cylinders 1 and 2 can cause the engine to miss fire.
  4. Check the vacuum lines: Make sure that the vacuum lines are properly connected and not leaking. Any vacuum leaks can cause the engine to run poorly and miss fire.
  5. Check the PCV valve: The PCV (positive crankcase ventilation) valve can become clogged or malfunctioning and cause the engine to run poorly and miss fire.
  6. Check the EGR valve: The EGR (exhaust gas recirculation) valve can become clogged or malfunctioning and cause the engine to run poorly and miss fire.
  7. Check the Engine Control Module: The Engine Control Module (ECM) controls the ignition and fuel systems and if it's malfunctioning it can cause the engine to miss fire.
It's important to note that some of these steps may require special tools and knowledge of the vehicle's engine system, so it's best to take it to a professional mechanic to avoid causing more damage.

What bolt is missing on or in distributor as if outer bolt holding distributor on to the engine this will allow distributor to move and your timing will move so the engine will not start or miss fire and can cause a blow back through the carby and a FIRE so get it checked now.

Idling #5 and #7 miss fire. holding it at 2000 rpms makes all 8 miss fire. its running really rich and the only code its showing is P0300 which is engine miss fire. have replaced plugs wires cap and...

When there is an engine misfire it could be gas or spark related. Or, the oxygen sensor may not be operating correctly, which controls fuel supply.

If there is a 'random misfire' then it could be an oxygen sensor causing the problem, as well, causing a rich mixture.

Good luck on this repair.

Check engine light is on and it reads Misfire on #2 cylinder. Also oxygen sensor bank2 sensor 1 and Bank 1 sensor 3 behind the converter. Engine running rough.

the engine miss fire can cause the other codes to set. you need to repair the miss fire and clear all codes after the miss is repaired then see if the 02 sensor codes return. the miss fire is probably a bad spark plug wire a good tune-up should take care of it ........HAVE A GREAT DAY

Engine miss fire

Engine misfires can be caused by a variety of anomalies.

Check the computer with an OBD-II Scanner. I just got one from Walmart for $98 plus tax, and it has English descriptions of codes that it reads.

It will tell you which cylinder(s) are missing and if you have any sensors that have issues or problems.

This is an invaluable tool for fixing engine misfires. Good luck to you.

check or relace your coil pack due to the fact that when a coil pack is going bad it usually looses its umph. when it get hot and that would explain random miss fires
