1986 HD sportster 883 bought without turn signals. Located two wires on both forks and two single wires to rear signals. How do I wire led's? Tried and all 4 lights illuminate with either turn signal and they don't blink. Not sure what to do or what to buy for these to work.

Your bike came with front running lights (black wire) and turn signals. The wire color for the turn signals are gray wires. The grey turn signal wires have small rubber bands on them to indicate which side they are for. A brown tag indicates right turn signals and a violet tag indicates left turn signals. If you need a schematic, I have one but I cannot send it via this forum. This forum only allows for a 150Kb picture and the schematic is larger than that. I'll be glad to scan the schematic and send it to you if you'll contact me directly at [email protected] Remind me that you need a schematic for a 1986 Sporty.

Good Luck
Steve

My left blinker flashes rapidly when key on but doesnt blink. and my horn doesnt work 2005 883 sportster

You may have 2 problems. One may be the turn signal bulb is blown which causes the fast blinking. Or, your turn signal wires may have caused a fuse to blow which has resulted in the signal flashing and no horn if they are on the same circuit. Check all your fuses.

Wiring diagram

Your turn signals are are control by you alarm control unit. your wiring loom is compatable with the uk alarm model. it will need to be reprogrammed to the ecu, that will remove the conbined turnsignal/brake. or cheaper option would be to cut feed wire going to turn signal switch and and a separate relay and change rear signal to uk single filament lights. front turn signals can be left as they are with run/turn as that is fine for the uk.

Wiring problems on 2000 Harley 883 Sportster Motorcycle. Bike was dropped busting right rear turn signal assembly. I replaced that turn signal, but it does not work. Wiring seems totally wierd as what...

If you have two wires that go to the turn signal and they don't work one way. You could try them switched around.
This is for a turn signal that is NOT also a running light. (Yellow Lens to Rear)
Use a test light and turn on the turn signal test both wires with the test light clipped to the ground or chassis of the bike. The wire that causes the light to blink will be the positive or hot side. That wire should attach to the bottom of the bulb.
The other wire is the Ground or common and that should attach to the side of the bulb holder.

Was wireing turn signal wire touched fork and sparked. head light went out and brake light went stop working

You earthed a live wire, check the fuses. If it is not the fuses, check the bulbs, if they are alright, you have probably blown a relay. Good luck!
