Hi, the hoses you refer to go back and hang over the top sides of the air box, the 750 zephyr doesnt have fuel overflow, if the carbs do overflow the petrol ends up in the airbox. it will only happen if the carb float valves stick, had the carbs off 4 times on mine to sort it out!

They are fuel overflow hoses, and just hang down under the engine. If they are not vacume or fuel lines, then they must be the overflow pipes, one from each carby.

Need help with 1991 Zephyr 750. having major issues with taking way to long to come back down to an idle. It seems like its being choked down somehow. what are the jet settings, turns out, etc.. I can...

sounds a bit like its s ucking air, the vac line opens the fuel valve, so I assume you disconect the line and hold your finger over it, and it runs until it gets low on fuel in the carbs.
Maybe the vac hose is leaking on its connection or has a hole, or the diaphram in the fuel tap is gone.

Petrol leaking from the exhaust pipe Kawasaki Zephyr 550; high leak rate (more than 1 l/hr)

At least one carb is flooding badly and will need a clean, but the vacumn fuel tap is also leaking or it is in the prime position.

Carb re-jet

I would rejet the carbs. I would go one size up on the jets. That should clear up the problem.

Kawasaki zephyr 1100 not running right

The carbs have some very tiny passages that will easily be blocked by that varnish reside. You will need to pull the carbs and flush every jet drilling with an aerosol carb cleaner like gumout Remove the jet and blow the spray cleaner through, rinsing out ant gum build up. Clean all the passages you can find and the rest of the carb linkage and bod. Idle passages are vacuum drawn and if your manifold vacumm is low then the fuel cannot be sypyphoned. to keep the engine running. Vacuum leaks are common on bikes that sit because the hoses dry up and loose thier seal. Check all you hoses and replace any in doubt. Good luc And let me know, please.- Ned
