1986 honda gl1200 sei seems it does not allways complete its diagnostic start up when it doesn't it will not run fuel pump or light the fuel light. subsequently it will not crank. What is the solution. Is it in the engine kill switch? the ignition switch?

check the fuel filter it sounds like it's pluged and causing too much back presure this is causing an over load in the fuel pump causing it to stop working or to presure lock
