I lost my ignition key? were can i get it or do i have to change the ignition switch?

You will either need to pay a lock smith to cut a new key or many times it is easier to buy a new set of locks and ignition switch with a key off of ebay and just change everything out.

It's not too tough... But be careful ... First open and remove plugs... Then remove the chip from backside.... Now you can out..... Then do just opposite work for in...

If you have only one key and you lost it then you will have to change -ignition -boot-doors and fuel door . Have a locksmith look at it as there may be numbers that he can cut a key from

I'm not sure what the cost of an ignition switch is, but for about $125 a locksmith will come to your home and make a key to fit.

The plastic ignition actator (plastic gear drive) has lost the steel pin pressed on the end of it. This thing connects the mechanical key ignition switch to the electrical ignition switch(with pin gone will push ignition on BUT with pin gone cannot PULL ign. switch to off position),the whole steering column will have to be removed from truck to replace.Availible from Ford or parts stores--ASK for plastic ignition actuator-metal one is for 1987 to 1991 F150s.

be for you replace ignition key. try going to a ford dealer.bring your reg and see if they can punch a key out for you. if not try to find a lock smith to make a key.if no luck you can replace it the switch cost about $25.00

From what I remember you need to put the missing key in and then press the cylinder release, a small hole by the ignition switch. Without the key, I guess you would need a locksmith to turn the tumbler then press the switch. Lock pick set anyone?
