I want to know how to completely deplete the battery before charging it again

If your machine's charge has been completely depleted, it will take a maximum of 3.5 hours to recharge again completely. When it's fully charged, the light on the charger will go out. You can either plug the charger cord directly into the machine, or store and recharge the machine in its docking station.

Chances are that your battery doesn't / wouldn't hold a charge anymore. The laptop runs off battery power. When it is plugged in, the AC power "goes right through the battery", to support the laptop's operations. When the power cord is unplugged, and the battery doesn't hold a charge, the laptop will shut down, as your battery is (too) low to continue supporting the laptop's operations.

The easiest way around this problem is to get a new battery for the laptop.
If your battery is (quite) new (and a Lithium battery), you may wish to see if you can "revive" the battery's "life" ... first by depleting the battery (completely), then charging it (until it shows it is full, plus a couple more hours), and repeating this process a few times. If you're lucky, the battery will slowly/gradually start to hold some charge, but, don't expect it to be very long.
The (preferred) way to use re-chargeable batteries is to charge it fully, unplug it from the external power source, use it until it is depleted, then plug in the external power source to charge it up (fully) again .... and NOT to keep it on a power source all the time.

Power on is indication of current supply malfunction. For example, the battery supply requiring recharge before powers back on again once depleted of supply at prior usage. A completely depleted device battery would require full battery recharge before any images are displayable once more. Ascertain the full charge duration requirement to perform battery charging. Meanwhile, inspect the device for power device maladjsutments. For example, the battery compartment may have malalligned due to impact. verify that each compartments contributing towards powering up is in place. Open battery compartments to ascertain integrity. Thereafter, plugging device to power source should restore default power functioanlity soon after full charge is acheived. Also, the process of powering on the device may require continously pressing on extensively to acheive restore display for images. It's not unusual for a defective battery/charger/camera to happen. Take it back and ask for a replacement.

The rapid rate charger WPLN41__ will typically charge a battery in 90-120 minutes. Your battery should be depleted or nearly depleted when you place it in the charging stand. Be certain your radio is always turned off, when charging an attached battery. The NiMH battery will generally go 12-16 hours on a charge when new. If you work an eight hour shift, you might see if the radio will go 2 days on a charge. Later as the battery ages, you will need to charge it nightly. (Think of putting it in the charger as putting it to bed at night.)

Rapid charging is necessary on NiMH and Li-Ion batteries. They require a "hotter" charger, a fast rate, to completely charge the battery. It will not harm this chemistry of battery. It is safe to leave the battery on the charger overnight, or for a weekend. We would not recommend leaving the battery on the charger longer periods of time, as that will age the battery and reduce its life.

(Sidenote: Frequent rapid charging will however reduce the life of a NiCD battery.)

The Battery Pack:KEBT-071-B was memory depleted. Just Try using Alkaline Batteries and test again, if the test results OK, Memory Discharge de Battery Pack Full Discharge and them complete the charge Cycle Again until the Memory Charge error disapear, or optional Buy a new Battery Pack.
