Please make it sure you are assembled it right. It sounds like the gears are not engaging. Did you have any problems with the motor before replacing the starter? If not, then the problem is at the starter now.
Try bleeding it, if that doesnt work you will need a new master cylinder/ master cylinder rebuild kit, brake seals or brake line, depending on whats leaking. The master cylinder and brake line can come off ANY bike as long as they are the right length (brake line) or fit on the handle bars (master cylinder)
There are 2 bolts that retain the starter to the engine block and they are on the bottom of the starter motor. Always disconnect the battery before any starter work, also disconnect the battery cable, starter solenoid lead and other fusible links at the stater.
Bad switch,Bad relay, bad solenoid the solenoid may need cleaning. For troubleshooting remove the positive wire from the starter. That is the biggest one. on the starter. Now place a load on the wire say a headlight or 12 volt fan
Hi Some thing is expanding with heat or moving slightly to cause a dead short if the solenoid click when the fuse blows I would suspect the starter motor brushes / wiring, insulating washer on lead from solenoid or the starter motors internal components
This sounds like your starter motor has packed up, the clicking sound you hear is the celinoid kicking in, but the starter is not turning, try replacing the starter motor
Check your starter cable down at the starter. Even if you jump the battery you are still feeding the same starter cable under your truck.
It sounds like your battery may be shorting. It will still break connection. You could try to bypass your battery and feed the jumper wires direct to the cables with the cables disconnected from the battery posts of the bad battery. Block the cables with wood or some insulator and then try to start the truck. If it pulls down again you will know it is not the original battery. Then it must be the starter cable or the starter.
Check the ground wires. There use to be a frame ground under the area of the passengers door on the frame.
