I have an 08 650 brute force. put it in 4wd n went into the mud. i noticed the rear was pulling n sinking but the front was not pulling. i turned the wheels to where there was little resistance from the mud n they started to turn. My belt light is on also, could that be my problem?

These can be a PITA!
The diameter of the centre of the wheel can be a nasty tight fit.
Here's a couple of techniques:
- Old brute force trick......... use spare tire as "pendulum" hammer and smack the stuck tire... front.back.front.back
- If front tire, turn all the way to side being removed.... but block of wood between rim and frame.... turn back against rim.
- Put lug nuts back on leave slack. Lower vehicle back to ground and drive slowly forward and back. If front tire, turn back and forth.
Sometimes this will loosen them
- If rear tire, slide 4X4 across from under vehicle. block so it is against rim, then smack 4X4 with LARGE sledge hammer.
- Some people apply heat to the centre of the wheel where it is jammed. I don't like doing that.
BRUTE FORCE is much more satisfying.

may have got some water/mud sucked into the engine via exhaust if you did'nt keep the revs well up , take out the plug and check , and drain the oil to see if the crankcase isn't contaminated also

It's likely a tire balance issue. One of the wheel weights may have fallen off. You could try swapping the tires front and rear to see if the issue goes away, or take the tires back to where you last bought them and see if they'll rebalance for free.

Also, if you ever drive thru mud, the mud could have dried to the inside of the wheel causing an imbalance.

Possible, but any noise should be investigated fully. Start by checking front diff oil, then transfer case oil. Best to just drain both then look for any metal in oil.

if you had the rear wheels still on the ground in 4WD and it never drove the vehicle off the jacks or stands , you have a problem in the transfer case
in other words the transfer case is not selecting WD

You just need to pull it out, the two bolts and an o-ring are all that hold it in.

they all do that when you are on a dry cement surface. The truck is designed for sloppy mud or snow, and 4H. 4Low is for straight slow pulling, or climbing. Use 4 H and don't turn too much on dry surfaces. You won't notice it in the snow. Its like a locked axle.

If you are in 4WD, and not on a slippery surface, the tires may be having an effect called "scrubbing" where the tire on the outside of the turn is not rotating at the same rpms as the tire on the inside of the curve. I have noticed this on my jeep wrangler in 4wd.

Using 4wd on dry or non-slippery surfaces can cause this problem, and also will cause excessive tire wear.

Try the same manuever on a gravel road or a ice patch (it's been in 90s here in Texas, so good luck on that one) and see if it is improved.

Also, would probably expect a little more effort to steer when in 4wd because the universal joints or CV joints are not in perfect alignment during a turn.
