The FI light is the equivalent of a CEL in your car. The ECU has detected an abnormality with one of the sensors, check the code and see what's up. Yes what he said...you will need a service manual to guide you through it. Jun 18, 2012

Nov 20, 2019 - The F1 light is the FI fuel injection light. Your bike needs to be diagnosed and scanned by your dealer or trusted mechanic. There is a problem with your fuel ...
Question edited for clarity.
Question moved from Cars and Trucks to correct category.
apparently, it is 'FI' not F1 and stands for Fault Identification. It is the same as the engine light on a car. A code scanner, or 'Dealer Mode' tells the fault.
Pput your bike in dealer mode (search "dealer mode"), FI Not F1, means Fault Indication. This is your ECM telling you there is something wrong. Dealer mode will give you a code, ie. C46 = EXCVA malfunction. When you get the code, we can help you, without the code it's all guess work, just like Mickking just did. If the FI goes away, put it in dealer mode and ride it around, it will most likely come back and will be displayed right there in front your face.
Hi pakie
the Fi light is fuel injection or ignition fault check fuse to ecu or engine stop relay and stop switch. Poss fault on angle sensor although unusual. If the light is flashing its a case of counting flashes to get fault code worse case is ECU fault
Hi. There ae numerous forums/site for your bike's FI codes. Since I don't know what code your FI is flashing, all I can say is put the FI code into your computer google or yahoo search area, and you will get an answer. Yiur FI should flash a few times first, and that is the first digit in the sequence. A second later, it should flash again, and that is th 2nd digit in the code. an EXAMPLE is 2 flashes, pause, 3 flashes...then repeats. That will be a code 23. Trust me, you will find the FI code online. Good luck!
The FI light is letting you know there is a problem with the Fuel Injection system on the bike. You will most likely need to take it to the dealer and have them diagnose it with their computer. You can check your fuses and make sure they are intact, but most likely dealership problem.
it's not an F1 light it's an FI light for fuel injection. is it a full exhaust installed on the bike or just a slip on? may need a power commander to balance it all out.
It's not F1 the light is FI F as in Fuel and I as in Injection. This light should come on for a moment when the key is turned on and then go off. Regards Lon from Woodstock
It sounds like the tilt cut off may be to blame. If you put the bike into self diagnosis mode it will give you a code. This code can be checked and the offending sensor replaced. The tilt sensor in the tail piece is one sensor that turns the fuel pump off and so stops the engine.
