You will need a Engine error code reader and will need to read error codes listed and erase all error codes which will reset the bike check engine light.

SOURCE: How to reset the oil/service light on Kymco 500

There's a button covered with rubber on the left side of the dashboard. Using a thin stick, push this firmly and hold (while the bike is running) for about 1 minute. Fixed.

Try dissconnecting the Negative Terminal on the Battery. Leave off for a minute or so, should reset it.

Starter spinning freely but wont engage engine to start if it did it starts up fine.

Sounds like your pinion/bendix gear is not reliably extending fully to engage the flywheel. There are three common causes of this: (most common) Dried up grease or dirt on the threads of the starter shaft and the pinion/bendix. Failing overrunning/one-way clutch in the bendix
replace starter.

2007 Kymco Xciting 500: Jumper cables were reversed. Replaced battery and all fuses. Now the battery discharges, battery charge light in dash is not on, even when engine is not running. Also speedo needle...

the stator produces ac current and the voltage regulator/ rectifier converts the ac current to dc current and keeps your battery charged.

So its probably your voltage regulator.
when engine is off the battery should read 12.5 volts
At idle the baterry should read 12.8+ volts
at 2000 rpm battery should read 13.0 - 14.8 volts

if your not getting those readings your voltage regulator is bad.
you can find them at parts for scooters dot com pretty cheap and they ship fast.

as for the speedo, you may be able to take apart and reset the needle. Some you can't even get to.
so you may have to get a new one.
