It is behind the engine cover on the left side of the bike.
Remove left driver foot peg or floorboard and shifter and the case is a few bolts to get off. No oil will leak when cover is removed.

The slave cylinder, which is present only on manual transmission automobiles, is located at the transmission bell housing, where it provides the hydraulic pressure-to-mechanical pressure conversion that actuates the clutch fork to disengage the clutch plate from the pressure plate.
sound to me like the clutch slave cylinder. follow the pipework down from the bars to the casing. Unbolt the slave cylinder and im guessing it will be covered in break fluid. new slave cylinder is the answer hope this helps
Brake fluid moves from the master cylinder through a tube to the slave cylinder mounted on the transmission so if you are unable to locate the slave cylinder on the transmission follow the hydraulic pressure line from the master cylinder and it will lead you there.
i presume your asking about the clutch slave cylinder ,this will be located under the hood at the bulkhead end of engine compartment ,there will be a small fluid resovoir sitting on top of the actual hydraulic slave cylinder , the clutch fluid resorvoir is smaller , and usually not opaque, than the brake fluid resorvoir, which are usually next to each other , incidentally the brake also has a slave, or more usually known as the master , cylinder
So we are talking manual transmission clutch operation here?
Your master cylinder is located on the firewall, on the other side of the clutch pedal. Your slave cylinder is located next to the gearbox bell housing.
on a manual transmission the Clutch Slave Cylinder is located on the drivers side front of the transmission. You can locate it by first finding the clutch master cylinder on the drivers side of the firewall. Then fallow the plastic line to the front of the transmission.
To remove the slave you will first twist it then pull it out of the transmission.
The clutch slave and mater cylinder are replaced as an assembly.
When you put the sprocket cover back on, you've not engaged the clutch push rod correctly in the clutch slave cylinder. As the cover was tightened down it's pushed the slave cylinder piston too far back. Remove the slave cylinder only (3 x 8mm head bolts) and check it operates properly, then ensure the push rod is correctly seated in the depression in the centre of the slave cylinder plate when you bolt it back up. FJ1200's have the same clutch and I had the same problem with my FJ...
The clutch slave cylinder is located on the left side of the transmission, but i believe that the slave cylinder may come with the master cylinder and lines already attached
