How to Remove Adhesive and Ink with Green Chemicals

Adhesive & Ink Remover was engineered to remove: adhesives, glues, tar, water seal compounds, non-curing adhesive films, inks and grease. The green cleaning products and ingredients are safe for use on metals, plastic, stone, fabric and more. The formulation can also be applied to specialized surfaces, including vehicle exteriors and interiors, Plexiglas, marble and vinyl.

The new green cleaning products employ a microscopic technology to break the carbon bonds that hold inks and adhesives together. The resulting solution disperses in water for easy removal.

This formulation employs green cleaning products engineered from soy and plant ingredients that generate no hazardous fumes. On the institutional hazards rating diamond, the product produces zeros in all four quadrants, including health, reactivity and flammability. The bio-safe ingredients are documented to degrade in a matter of weeks, as described in evaluations by a noted testing laboratory.

Remove Motorcycle Tank Badge

Removing the "badge" (also referred to as the nameplate or label) from your motorcycle tank is very easy. No tools are required!

Did you know that badges are kept in place with adhesive? From start to finish the whole process will take less than half and hour.

The required "tools" are a hair dryer, dental floss or fishing line, adhesive solvent, some gloves, and a soft cloth or towel.tools.jpg

Turn on the hair dryer to the highest heat setting available. Either hold it yourself, or hang it upside down by the cord from your handlebar, leaving the hot air blowing on the badge for about ten minutes. Next, saw beneath the badge with dental floss or fishing line.flossing.jpg

If the floss keeps breaking, use fishing line. betterthanfloss.jpg

Using a gentle sawing motion, continue all the way behind the badge.fishingline.jpg

Presto! badgeoff.jpg

Removing the residual adhesive is the most time consuming part of the project.badgegone.jpg

I recommend using Goo Gone or another adhesive solvent. It won't ruin your paint, but will weaken the adhesive. Use more solvent than you think will be necessary. The more the better. googone.jpg

Wipe with a clean, dry cloth and you're done! The final result looks great. Your tank is now ready for custom graphics or paint. finished.jpg

How do I remove these?

If you can see the pads, pull hard in the rings to remove them. Adhesive residue can be removed with alcohol wipes.

2002 nissan xterra drivers power door lock

could be the key tumbler needs a shot of lubricant. i recommend shooting wd-40 into the lock and cycling it. if the action improves but no unlocking, its the linkage attached to the tumbler itself. its easy to repair. remove the door panel. then CAREFULLY remove dust plastic and lay it in the floor so the black adhesive dont stick together. you should see the rods inside the door easily to understand their operation.

Felt ring inside of dryer. Seems easy to replace, but assume I need some adhesive. Am I correct?r

Hi,
Yes, you are correct. You will need high temperature adhesive to replace the felt seal. I assume you are able to remove the drum from the dryer to complete this task.
Good luck

I have my selection lever set at filter and I have water comoin out of the return line and the waste line, what will cause this to happen?

There is a "spider" gasket that seperates the different ports inside the multi-port valve. When this gasket starts to get worn, it either comes loose and bunches up, or just plain loses its sealing capabilities. It is easy to fix.
Just remove the pin in the handle. Remove the through bolts holding the lid on the valve, and you will have access to this gasket. You then need to scrape the gasket "seat" clean of debris and old adhesive.

Then, you need to determine the model of the valve you have, and purchase a new gasket, and a new tube of underwater adhesive .

If you need help determining the part number of your valve gasket, please e-mail me the complete model number of the valve to [email protected] and I would be happy to help you further once I have more information.

To affix new gasket simply put a light amount of adhesive on the gasket seat, then plave gasket in the seat and press firmly around in an even circle. Remove any extra adhesive the oozes out, then put the lid back on and replace the through bolts. Tighten the through bolts down and let it sit for 5-6 hours at least to cure the adhesive.

Then remove the lid again and check to make sure no adhesive has locked anything up, if so clean it off.

Now you are ready to put it all back together and test it out!

What is the easiest way to change a thermostat?

Hello there:
this is verry easy to do, make sure to get some gasket adhesive
(1) remove the radiator cap
(2) losen the radiator hose at the engine side (this is where the
thermostat is located this will help drain the water out.
(3) remove the hose from the thermostat housing.
(4) remove the thermostat housing and you will see
the thermostat, do not forget the way that it is installed.+
(5) remove the old thermostat and remove all of gasket
that is stuck to the surfaces.
(6) apply the gasket adhesive to the housing surface and
install the gasket and the thermostat.
(7) apply a medium size bead of gasket adhesive to the other housing part and install
it and tighten it down and reinstall the hose.
(8) refill the radiator with water and start the vehical let run for 15 min and check for leaks tighten nuts if needed but not too much
or you will break the bolt ok if no leaks CONGRAT'S
hope that this has helped out a lot please rate this for me ok?
best regards mike

Replace felt seal on gas dryer door

Yuck, nothing like replacing the felt, removers will only give you brain damage.I would find something hard plastic to scrap it off to prevent scraping of the finish. Dont give up a burn it off, I know from experience. Try the red plastic scrapers from Ace Hardware, there cheap by a dozen just in case the person who installed the felt had a seizure with the glue!

Your ignorance is the problem

The magnetic door gasket is sold at any hardware store. It's sold in a roll that has an adhesive backing on one side, you cut it to fit. Hell, I'm looking at them on Home Depot's web site right now on my desk top, (typing on my laptop), and looked at Lowe's site, they also have them. I'm going guess and say that a stupid minimum wage store clerk probably told you they didn't have them. Now you're wasting my time, don't bother replying, I'm done.
