Check the wire coming to it for power, if it has power replace the solenoid To test the solenoid you can run a power wire from positive battery post to the solenoid an listen for it to click
Have you checked the timing? It might be too advanced. I would try to retard it just a little. I would also check for vacuum leaks in any of the hoses going to the carburetor or the distributor.
have checked if the power comes to the solenoid is powerful or do you have before solenoid any broken wires inside the wiring cover and drops the currency? Measure the power by using an ohmmeter.
If the carburator has never been rebuilt, or the plugs that were installed at the factory have never been removed, you need to remove those plugs, there is one for each idle mixture screw, at the front of the base plate on the bottom of the carburator, 1 for the TPS adjustment on the driver side front of the carburator, and one for the mixture control solenoid on top of the carburator, in the middle, towards the front.
You'll need to disconnect the fuel line at the front of the carburator. Disconnect the vacuum line at the back of the carburator going to the brake booster. Label and remove the vacuum hoses. Unplug the mixture control solenoid connector, the TPS connector and the connector to the automatic choke. Unbolt the 4 13mm bolts holding the carburator to the intake and remove the carburator.
It should have a #370A main jet in it. The pilot jet should be a #35. The jet needle should be a #R-2. The throttle screw setting is one and one half turns outward from a LIGHTLY seated position.
when you turn the key on to the run positon do you hear a clicking sound coming from the carburator? this tractor is equipped with a fuel shut off solenoid on the carburator if you dont hear the clicking sound solenoid is either not getting 12vdc or it is defective.
