SOURCE: having problem w starter on

Yes, they are probably correct. The "starter clutch", or "overrunning clutch", is the part that acts like the old Bendix in earlier starting systems. It's basically a "one way bearing" that locks up in order to turn the engine over but freewheels when the engine fires up. It is an integral part of the starter. You can replace it but the starter must be removed from the engine and then disassembled. If you can do the job yourself, you can save some money by not having to replace the entire starter. However since disassembling and reassembling the starter is labor time intensive, if you are going to pay to have the bike fixed, you'd probably be better off simply replacing the entire starter. The labor cost for the repair of the starter would quickly negate any savings you might have realized by repairing the starter.

1992 subaru legacy starter relay?? car wont start

I prefer Big O tires.. they are great at helping and are better than Firestone and a little less expensive.. I am having the same problem. I have a new selenoid but I'm not sure where it is.. It isn't like a normal car where the positive terminal from the battery connects to it. That cable connects directly to the starter..

1992 Honda Accord having problems with the shift lock. Must put key in key port by shifter to get out of park. But now, after disconnecting and reconnecting battery to change headlamp, it simply won't...

The neutral safety switch at your shift lock needs to be replaced. It is broken so the circuit loop for the starter is open. Therefore no solenoid click to engage the starter. Part is not expensive around $45, but labor may cost more. Here is how it looks: feb3fbc.jpg
