It sounds like you have a bad ground more then likely in the head light housing or where the spade plugs on the back of light the switch could have a pinched wire were it bolts together I have seen that sevaral times even on new bikes only other thing that could blow it would be extreem voltage possibly a bad regulator it would be noticably your lights would all be extremely bright to bright hope that heads you in the right direction
SOURCE: headlight low beam not working
Have you tried removing the headlight unit from the bike, detaching all the wires for the headlight? After that you should have a clear view of the backside of the bulb, on the rear of the headlight unit. To take it out you have to apply gentle downward pressure and turn the bulb counter-clockwise (looking from the backside). It should then unlock and be removed easily.
SOURCE: headlight won't work; all others do
Hi and welcome to FixYa,
Initially, suggested checks using a testlight (preferably, rather than a voltmeter) with the ignition switch ON:
Not to confuse you, the starter switch has an internal mechanism that switches off the headlight when starting. This is to ensure that the starter motor gets all the power from the battery.
Good luck and thank you for asking FixYa. Happy Holidays.
