Yes, Yamaha makes regular,semi-,and full synthetic oil for there motorcycles. Make sure the oil you use is JASO MA certified for motorcycle use. Do not use any oil that says energy conserving, it will shorten the life of your clutch and drive gears. Amzoil and Mobile 1 both make good motorcycle oil (full synthetic). Full synthetic is often the same price as semi-synthetic.

How do I check the oil on my 2008 Yamaha 1100 V Star Classic

There is a window on the bottom of the left side (kickstand side) of the chrome cover. with the bike level, you would look into the window to see the oil level. it should be at least halfway up the window, but not all the way up.

What type and Wt.oil is recomended, and is there a dip stick available. 2003 1100 classic.

Any oil that is JASO MA certified motorcycle oil. 10w-40 for cold climate. 20w-50 for warm climate/touring. Do not use any oil that says Energy Conserving on the label . It will shorten the life of your wet clutch and transmission gears. Synthetic oils will help your bike run cooler and shift easier. I have not heard of a dipstick being available for your cycle. Always be sure to hold the bike level when checking the oil so you get an accurate reading of the level.
