You will find the idel jet inside the carb, you will need to strip down the whole cab to get to it .the idel jet is made of brass and will have a very small hole in the centre that gets blocked ,and will not lit fuel through to the cylinders You will find the idel jet inside the carb, you will need to strip down the whole cab to get to it .the idel jet is made of brass and will have a very small hole in the centre that gets blocked ,and will not lit fuel through to the cylinders

If you go easy on the clutch and do not pull a trailer, you may never have to replace the clutch. My GL1000 clutch has over 150,000 Miles (around 240,000 km) on it and works just fine
Has the bike been standing along time? if so its probably the pilot fuel tunnel in the carb blocked. replace the pilot jets and main jets and soak the the carbs in a good carb cleaner.
If the "knocking" noise sounds like it's coming from the lower end, listen to see if it's around the clutch area. My was making a "knocking" noise, only on cold starts, which sounded like the bike was trying to engage into gear. I drained the fluid from the clutch system and refilled with clean DOT 4 brake fluid. This stopped the problem.
Ironically enough, I was having the "ticking" problem too. When I would start my bike, about 30 seconds into warming it up, I heard a ticking noise for 2 -3 seconds of the right side of the bike. The Wing uses a hydraulic Valve and Tappet system which will, eventually, make noise if you run "low grade" fuel in the Wing. Go to your local Wal-Mart, or parts store, and buy a can of Sea Foam. Follow the directions on the bottle for the amount to use with a full tank of fuel (add it to your gas tank, not your crankcase). Fill your tank with Premium fuel and add the Sea Foam. Do this for two fill-ups and this should clean your valves and clear up your noise(s).
NOTE: any fuel with Ethanol in it is NOT good for bikes or cars and will cause buildup on your Valves. Sea Foam ALWAYS works. This is a cheap way to find out if it is just deposits or if you are going to need a mechanic.
It may be a safety switch in the clutch lever or bike stand switch being a bit sticky or broken wire in the wiring harness near the steering head that bends alot.
The starter solenoid is not engaging.or the throughout drive is sticking. If you can hear the starter turning and not engaging, this is the 2 most common problems.Probably a job for an auto electrician. Its not a big problem and easy to fix.Hope this helps
Have you had the clutch checked? Cause that's where it sounds like the problem is. My HD tried that same ****,adjusted the clutch, fine for a while, then it happened again. Turned out my clutch cable was popping loose in the hand-lever one wire at a time. Repaired that and no probs since.
So, I'd check the cable first and if it's good I'd have the clutch plates etc. checked. Good luck.
hello mate ive just had the same problem with my bike and if you have had ur oil level low it causes air bubbles in the oil pump which is causing ur engine to temp seize cz of heat of piston drain ur oil pump then hopefully it should be fine good luck n i hope this works for you
you need to buy a new battery. or something is wrong with your charging system, possibly your rectifier which is located on the right or left side of your subframe underneath your cowling.
