I own a 2008 Yamaha V-Star Silverado. I was trailering the bike and the handlebars rotated downward. How can I get to the bolts to adjust the bars and bring them back up?

Joe, the problem I have is the caps that are likely covering those allen bolts. I have tried to gently pry the caps off with a small screw driver but they won't come off.

Joe, the problem is GETTING to the bolts. I am going to assume they will be allen bolts. It is the fact that they are covered by caps that won't come off when I tried prying them (albiet gently) using a screwdriver.

Hello. In order to get to the bolts you will need socket wrenches. You can often borrow tools from many auto parts stores. Call a few stores and see who has a tool loan program. You may have to use the tools at their location so trailer your bike to the store. Joe

The bolts should come with them? Your local motorcycle shop or Home Depot carries bolts in stock.

The handlebars on my new Huffy Cranbrook rotate downwards if I put pressure on them. I tried so hard to tighten the bolt holding them in place (using both the adjustable wrench suggested by the manual and...

The handle bars should have a knurled surface at the center where it goes in the clamp/stem. Center the knurled section in the clamp and then tight the clamp bolt. If you have stripped/ rounded off the corners off the hex bolt you will have to either use a pair of visegrip pliers or get a new bolt. Never use an adjustable wrench. You are just asking to strip (round off) the bolt head if you do. Use a box end wrench or socket.
Good luck.

Can you adjust handlebars of yamaha 650 v star 2004 model. right side seems 1/2 inch closer to rider. Gives the illusion of going down road a little sideways. forks appear straight. i am buying this used...

Handlebars can be adjusted up and down, but I know of no way to adjust bars forward and back. I would check the levelness of the forks just to make sure that the motorcycle has not been in a front end collision.

How do I rotate the handlebar stem on gmc yukon xl road bike?

If the stem is installed backwards that means it is pointing at you when you are riding? To correct this you will need to remove the handlebars from the stem. This done by removing the two allen bolts front the front of the stem. Now loosen the two(may be only one) allen bolt heads on the side of the stem. Now rotate the stem. Reinstall the handlebars, front mounting plate and bolts (make sure the bolts are tight). Make sure the stem is straight and tighten the allen bolts on the side.
If the stem was installed incorrectly it may be a good idea to have the bike checked over by your local bike shop to insure nothing else is installed/adjusted incorrectly.

Hope this helps. If you need any other help you can contact me at [email protected] Thank you
