Hi. I bought a used Porter Cable Shop Boss air compressor...model # CPFC2TV3525VP (it has a 25 gal tank), and I believe it has much rust in the tank from poor basic maintenance from the original owner. What filter can you recommend to me to buy and install to keep the rust out of my compressed air? Thanks!
First you need to remove the tank and get rid of the rust with a rust kill agent, vinga or chemical type with corrosive converter, then liquid paint the inside of the tank, swilling the paint inside and leave to drip out. then find a high pressure line filter, these are a solid filter and put in line. to stop this happening again to the tank you can also put a drop valve in place and when not in use press to release the air inside as this is what rusts the tank. but after the restoration it should be fine without a filter.

hi!
there are several factors we can consider it comes from short circuited.if you did not rewire the circuit its fine, but if you rewire the circuit and it happen there is wrong connection it may happen every time you power on,check your connection the common line of the motor should as your L1(line 1) and line2 should connect to line capacitor w/c that is your starting capacitor.the pressure switch should be in series connection with line 1 or on line 2
check also the bearing of your motor if worn out replace bearing, because the worn out bearing develop hi ampere it shorted also the electrical system if there is sticky bearing.check also your capacitor if busted capacitor it will also open your breaker besause it can not start up.hope this can help you.

I would replace them all. Check the inlet Valve/fitting too.

Might be the unloader valve is stuck. if so there will be hissing noise from switch assembly and you may have to get a new one.
