All main fuel lines should route to the fuel filter first. then to a "fuel pump" system, then up into the fuel rail or t-fitting. if you see a smaller extra hose coming off the tank that is just a purge vent tube overflow line. That should drain into another funnel like collecting device that will route to it so as to not drop onto the hot running engine. Follow the main line from the fuel selector on/off/res... there better only be one line... or that means you"ll have two fuel filter/ pump systems, i wouldn't want straight unfiltered fuel going directly into my carbs. (Plus that would mean your pump and main filter are in the tank) this could be a possibility!! Let me know if im wrong, call the dealer and ask, but this is 1993 technology not 2003 it should be very basic.

I have a 99 bonneville. About a week ago i was putting gas in when i knew it was almost empty, and the pump kept shutting off. I did this for a few days, putting in just enough to not run out. Then it went...

Sounds like the vent for the tank may be defective. The vent is on top of the gas tank between the tank and the floor of the trunk.
Or there is a blockage in the fill pipe for the tank below the connector hose.
You may have to have someone remove the tank and inspect it.

Need to replace the fuel line connecting the 2 sides of the fuel tank

You didn't say what year or model your bike is. The earlier bikes use just a plain piece of quarter inch fuel hose. The later models use a hose with a quick disconnect in it according to what little I know about them. I only work on bikes built prior to 2000 and don't have much experience with the newer models. But, the installation procedure should be about the same. You must drain the tanks as you take this line off. If the bike is carburetor equipped, I loosen the large nut on the fuel petcock and catch the fuel with a large funnel and an empty fuel can. If it's fuel injected, I would suppose you disconnet each side of the hose separately if it has the disconnect in the middle. If not, you can use a pair of Channel Lock pliers to pinch off the crossover hose. Disconnect the other side and catch the fuel. When it empties, drain the fuel from the other side of the tank. Once you have all the fuel out, you can disconnect the old hose and replace it.

Good Luck

Brinkman grill 3 burner pro series 8300 won't

To restore gas to the burners, follow the instructions below.

1. Turn the gas tank valve OFF and disconnect the hose from the tank.

2. Wait 5 minutes and reconnect the hose to the tank.

3. Open the tank valve VERY, VERY SLOWLY (Slow motion, slow).

4. Once the tank valve is fully open, light the burner farthest from the tank first and set the burner
control knob on HIGH. Does the flame height look correct for being set on HIGH? If so, light
the remaining burners the same way. Do all the burner flames look correct? If so, you solved
the problem. Remember, to always open the tank valve Very, Very Slowly.

If that didn't solve the problem, you will need to replace the grill's Hose/Regulator Assembly. It runs about $30.00 at any home center or hardware store that sells grills & accessories. If you replace it, turn the tank valve ON Very, Very Slowly.

Hope this helped you to troubleshoot and solve the problem. Happy Grilling.

Someone was trowing this lil trimmer in the garbages so i took it home and the only problem that i could see was that the two fuel lines going from the carb to the tank were ripped and swelled u p so i...

One hose goes to the tank and attach to the fuel filter. This hose should reach all the way to the bottom of the tank or you wont be able to reach the fuel when the tank is less than half full. The other hose should just stik in 3 or 4 inches. This one allows extra fuel to squirt back into the tank when you press the prime bulb 6 or 7 time for a cold start. Once you connect both hoses to the carburetor, push the prime button a few times to make sure gas is moving. If not, you might have the hoses connected to the carb incorrectly. Just swap them and try again. You can buy a primer bulb replacement with some hose at a hardware store (home depot). Just use the hose and save the bulb if the original still works. Also, you can take the whole thing apart (surprisingly few parts). Take the piston out and polish off the carbon soot and it will run like a champ if you can get it back together. You may only need screwdrivers and a set. Of Allen (hex) wrenches. Use a scotch rite pad to clean the piston. Don't scratch it with sandpaper unless that is your only option. Have fun, don't worry about breaking it and learn something! Cheers

Have a full propane tank and it sounds like it is working, but not just one, but none of the grill will light. Can you give me any ideas of what could be wrong - I'm going to clean it well and get...

Turn the propane tank valve OFF,. Disconnect the hose from the tank and wait 5 minutes. Reconnect the hose to the tank and open the tank valve VERY, VERY SLOWLY (Slow motion, slow) Once the valve is fully open, light the burner farthest from the tank first and turn it to HIGH. Does the flame height look correct? If so, light the remaining burners the same way. Do all the burners no light and the flame height looks correct? If so, you solved the problem. Just remember, to always turn the tank valve ON very, very slowly.

If that didn't solve the problem, you will need to replace the grill's hose/regulator assembly. You can purchase one at any home center or hardware store that sell gas grills and accessories. Take you old one with you for comparison purposes.

Hope this helped to solve the problem. Please let me know and Happy Grilling!!

Cannot put new hoses on the carb. I didn't take them off, and don't know what hose goes to the tank, primer, etcThank YOU KEN

Hi Ken,

If this is a chainsaw, you have fuel filter in the gas tank. Take the fuel filter with you when go to pick up new line. If it fits the filter, it will fit the rest.

Hope this helps. If it does, I'd appreciate a 4 thumbs up. Thanks,

I took of the timing belt and i didnt mark it

If you didn't move the crankshaft or camshaft after removing the belt, you can put the new belt on as it is. Just make sure the cam or crank pulleys don't budge when you apply tension to the new belt.

Just need to know where to put the coolant

If you don't have a radiator cap or a cap in the upper radiator hose, you have to add through the Overflow. Cavaliers are this way. It takes forever to burp the air out of them. Be careful that you don't stop before all of the air is out. An aid pocket in the cyl head will damage your engine.

A low flame comes out of my burners. I can not make any adjustments to make it hotter.

Unless, your tank not is really low on gas and your burners really don't need cleaning? Try this:

Turn OFF the tank valve and disconnect the hose/regulator assembly from the tank. Wait 5 minutes and reconnect the hose to the tank. Turn the tank valve ON VERY, VERY SLOWLY (Slow Motion, slow), until the tank valve is fully open. Then light the burner farthest from the tank and turn the control knob to the highest setting. Has the flame height returned to normal on that burner? If so, light the remaining burner(s) the same way. Now, do all the burner flame heights look normal? If so, you solved the problem. Just remember to always turn the tank valve on very, very slowly.

If the above didn't solve the problem, turn the tank valve OFF. Disconnect the hose/regulator assembly from the tank and the grill. Then, head on over to your nearest home center or hardware store that sells gas grills and accessories, because you need a new hose/regulator assembly. Be sure to take the old one with you for comparison purposes.

Hope this helped you troubleshoot and solve the problem.
