Anything is possible with enough money. You will find that it handles better with the fairing attached to the frame.

2006 Harley Davidson street glide brake light stays on

Try loosening the bolts holding the front master cylinder on the handlebars. Slide the master cylinder down as close as possible to the right handlebar switch housing. If this doesn't work, the front brake light switch is probably bad and needs to be replaced in the right switch housing.

Good luck

The brake light on my 08 FLXH Streetglide stays on all the time.

Try this first. Loosen the bolts that hold the front master cylinder onto the handlebars. Slide the master cylinder as close to the right handlebar switch housing as possible. If this doesn't turn the brake light off, either the switch in the right handlebar switch housing is bad or the pressure switch in the metal brake line under the bike is bad.

How to get acsess to my handlebars to tighten

You must remove the Nachele to get to the handlebar risers. They are bolted through the top triple tree. Of course, you must also remove anything that prevents you from gettng the nachelle off such as windshield, fairing, and headlight. Note: Sometimes if you turn the front end fully to one side, you and get to the large nut or bolt from the bottom side without removing he nachelle. Turn the front end to the other direction to get to the other nut or bolt.

Now, keep one thing in mind, the handlebar risers are mounted in rubber bushings. This is done to reduce handlebar vibration. Harley has used this vibration dampening system for years on their big twin bikes. Your handlebars may not be "loose" but move due to the rubber mounting. Before I went to tearing my bike apart, I'd feel of some other bikes handlebars first and compare it to what yours feel like.

You can get more firm bushings for the handlebars. Matter of fact, you can get steel bushings that eliminate the rubber mounting.

Go to this site and check out page 990
http://www.vtwinmfg.com/Catalog1/VTwinCatalogIndex1.htm It is the V-Twin manufacturing catalog and shows the handlebar riser bushings. Good Luck
