Hello,
something is not fitted right inside or the new plates don't match the original outer or inner basket. This would cause the plates to "backlash" inside the clutch, especially at idling.
if that's not the case, you might have not tighten hard enough the main shaft nut and it came loose. You need a special tool to hold properly the inner drum.

The bike has a slightly bent shift fork. The repair requires a complete engine teardown. Special tools needed include a torque wrench, impact driver, flywheel puller, and case splitter. This repair is not recommended for the novice mechanic. There are a lot of parts involved and just one mess up can force you to take the engine in a basket and plead with the dealer to reassemble the parts. The dealer will charge you more to repair a basket of parts than if you had just let them do the repair from the start. Below is a generic diagram showing how the shift forks, ( your bike has three ), move slider gears left and right to engage other gears. Please rate my answer.

solid mounted motor should ground to motor or frame did you maybe for get the smaller wire to positive term it goes to the main fuse you didnt say whether you had lights or not but theres too many possibilities if you got a book i'm geussing no but they'll have the complete wireing diagrams my advice get a mechanic down there it'll be reasonable cause if he knows his stuff it'll be pretty quick and do keep in mind paintjobs have bred lots of basket cases

go to capitolcycle.com and look your bike up on their online parts store...look up your clutch basket and it will give you a fiche page with the factory diagram to show you how they go in. great diagrams with part numbers and prices as well.

Call your local Kawasaki dealer. He can tell you exactly what youv'e got from the vin number.

ok there is two solutions to this prob to consider first try the clutch cable adjustment. If that does nothing try The clutch springs inside the case. If there are wear marks on the clutch basket then you need to completely replace the clutch all together. let me know how you make out
