1) Remove the battery and power cable. 2) Hold down the power button for 3 seconds. 3) Reattach the power cable and battery. 4) Try to boot again.

If you don't use the HP software (i don't on my 1300 series) Uninstall all of it.
Then go to device manager and remove the printer,then reboot(while rebooting unplug the printer from the computer) and then once the computer is up, plug the printer to the computer, it will find the printer and let it search for drivers, it should find vista drivers for the 1300 series

if this may not work try this additional steps:

Go to Control panel>printers>Right click on the printer and select properties then ports and see if it set as a USB port if not you may have to create one

you will face this kind of display problem if the video adapter IC(integrated circuit ) is dead or if it is getting over heated in the short time in the motherboard ...

you just have to do is you must replace that video adapter IC ...

just contact the motherboard technician and get that IC replaced ...

"After a brief power outage from a thunder storm, I also experienced an e3/lights blinking error. I unplugged the phone and plugged it back in several times to no avail. After doing this a couple of times unsuccessfully, I hit the "STOP" button on the base immediately after plugging it in (before it completed booting up to show the "e3 message")and it reset itself and now works fine (or as well as it did prior to the e3).
