Can not start,hear clicking sound in the fusebox ,the bike was in a shed for more then 3 years.

    Can you turn the engine over with the kick starter (if it has one) or by the back wheel?

Make sure you have the proper water acid level in each cell of the battery. Then, connect your battery to a trickle charger, which is a charger that puts out 1 - 3 AMPS continuous. Leave it connected for 48 hours. Disconnect the charger and allow the battery to stabilize for about one hour. Then check your battery voltage. If it is 12VDC try and start the motor. If it is below 10.8VDC, replace the battery. Most motorcycle batteries don't have a very long shelf life, and your battery is probably no good for sitting for more than three years.

sounds like a fuel issue, how long has the bike been sitting? You said it is worse in certain weather conditions, so i don't think electrical would act up in different weather conditions. I am not sure if your bike has carbs or fuel injection. If it has carbs, you most likely have dirty pilot jets.

As the summer months start to come in, we all like to get our motorcycles out and start riding them, but i hear a lot of people saying help, my bike wont start! That is because when you last parked it in the shed for the start of winter, then you made no preparations. With a few simple steps, next summer, you can get your bike out, and fire it up without any problems, ready to ride. There are things you must do when you go into storage, and a few things to do when you bring your bike out.
OK,so winter is approaching, and you want to put your bike away in the shed.
First thing you need to do is drain some fluids. Drain your engine oil. Then drain your gas tank and carburetors. It is important to drain the carbys, as the fuel left in the float bowl will go bad. You can choose to totally drain your gas tank, or fill it to the top with gas. Storing a tank full with gas, leaves no room for moisture to form, causing rust on the inside of steel tanks. Next, you need to also disconnect one lead from your battery, or even better, if you have a trickle charger hooked up to it. Thats about it really. Also,if you are confident in doing so, remove spark plug, or plugs, and spray some penetrating oil down into each cylinder, turn engine over to work it through. This will prevent any moisture or corrosion from forming on the inside of your cylinders. It is also a good idea to clean or replace your spark plugs each year anyway.
Now it's summer, and you want to ride, just roll your bike out. Put in some fresh engine oil, a fresh tank of gas, and a fully charged battery, you are ready to go!

Factory carb settings

This can vary from year to year, model to model, and make to make. A service manual for your specific bike may shed some light on what the default settings are on your carbs. Sometimes a simple search on your year make and model of bike with carb adjustments can return the answer to your question. Here is an example: 1979 Honda CB750 Carb Adjustments. One other factor in this is the elevation you are at. At higher elevations the air is thinner making your bike run rich as there isn't enough oxygen to mix with the fuel. Once you know where your adjustments are, you can get them fairly close by slowly adjusting them with the bike idling. You want to turn slowly (1/8 turn at a time) until you hear the motor idle increase. For multiple carbs, start with one and repeat on all other carbs. If you continue to turn your jets after the idle increases, it will eventually start idling down again. I have been taught to try to find the boundaries going each way and seek the middle ground. Once this is performed on all carbs, you may need to adjust your throttle stop adjustment screw to bring yoyr idle back to specification. Good luck with your carbs, safe and happy riding to you.

How do you find age of schwinn bike

I don't remember hearing about any important numbers being under the pedals. Pedals are detachable, so you wouldn't put an important number there. The bike serial number is usually stamped on the round tube that houses the pedal mechanism, the central plate that a kick stand is attached to or at the back and usually on the left hand side. Honestly there's million's of barely used bikes out there ( we in the USA are notorious for buying bikes and then not using them) and I doubt you've got one worth more than 25$. If it's been in the shed, then the tires and tubes are probably flat and dry rotted. It'll cost about $40 to replace the tires and tubes, so keep that in mind. Now if you've got a "Stingray" or something with a banana seat, you could get around 200$ for it. Remember a bike is only worth what someone is willing to pay for it. Oh yeah, if you still think you've got something special, go to EBay and see what something similar to it has sold for.

Bike would not start.

If you are hearing the clicking sound that means that your starter motor's relay is trying to engage. Probably you don't have enough juice in your battery. Charge your battery very good and give it a try again.If still nothing happens then you must take out the starter motor and have it repaired. That spinning sound also suggests to take a closer look to your starter motor and your starter clutch which is located behind the stator's rotor.

Okay i own 1996 suzuki gsxr750 now i have recently took everything off the bike to get parts painted tank,fairings, etc. while i was doing some minor things with the bike while it was completly stripped...

Bike batteries need full charge to start a bike, if there is less than full charge you can't even push start them. No click generally means no charge, the clicking sound is the solenoid working.
When you just start the bike and run it at idle, even fast idle. The battery does not get sufficient charge. What you take out of it to start it, is more than what you put back in it when you run it at idle. Bikes need to be at road speed to charge efficiently.
Also just sitting around they discharge, you may have an earth leak also. That causes your battery to discharge at a more accelorated rate than normal. If it has a clock in it, this bleeds off a small amount of power but still enough if it isn't being correctly charged.

Clicking noise in the rear end of my 2005 Rocket 3

It sounds like a bearing but you need to investigate a little further. Put the bike up on its center stand, rear wheel off ground. Then spin the wheel by hand and find that sound. IF you hear the sound really try to pinpoint its location. Then of course you need to get the repair book/ maintance book and go through the trouble shooting list. Good luck

I have a yamaha xvs 650 dragstar converted to a trike it has been stood for 3 months. when i try to start it there is a fast clicking but the the engine does not turn over but will start easy with a bump...

bike needs a new battery. battery is no longer capable of holding a full charge no matter what a trickle charger says. batteries wear out over time. expect 2-3 years from a motorcycle battery.

the clicking sound you hear is the relay flipping between open and close as it tries to get the right amount of amperage to turn the starter.
