85 xv 1000 are the pickup coils interchangeable

I have about 50,000 miles on my xv 1000 and just read that I should have replaced the stator about every 15,000 miles and am having charging problems. I will be replacing the stator and probably should replace the pickup coil while I am in the crankcase.
My question is about the coils are the pickup coils interchangeable with either the xv 700 750 or 920?

SOURCE: how hard is the stator to replace on the 85 gs 700

very simple remove to cover on the left side of the bike. its shaped like a kidney. The stator is the large mass of cooper wires. unplug the ends from the harness and remove retainers and replace.

I have a 04 V star 650 and it is not firing, need answers!

You will need an ohm meter. First check to see if your kill switch is working, by unplugging the switch and testing continuity in run and off positions,if that is ok, then you need to check resistance in the pickup coil.On the lower left side of the motor you will need to trace wires from the stator up to the cdi. Disconnect the two pin connector. On the stator side of the connector measure the resistance between the two wires. Ohm reading should be 188-222 ohms at 68 degrees. if it out of spec you will need to replace the pickup coil.

How hard is it to install pickup coil in the distributor of a 2001 dodge ram 1500 pickup.

The pick-up coil/stator is easily replaced in a dodge distributor, and once you have removed the distributor cap and the ignition rotor, then just dis-connect the wire connector from the pick-up coil/stator and lift it straight up and out of the distributor, and the distributor does not have to be removed or dis-assembled to replace the pick-up coil/stator. There are two alignment tabs on the pick-up coil/stator that will match up with the distributor cap when the pick-up coil/stator is properly installed. Here are two images to help assist you.

Yamaha xt 125r wont start up

hello, check and see if plug is firing a blue color, if not you may need a stator-pickup coil, i have a 2000 warrior, it is firing, orange and white color, stator neede to be replaced, pickup coil was going out, also check ign coil, these have a problem with getting weak after a while. most likely it is your stator pickup coil, no blue fire from plug, no running the motor. my stator pickup coil was going out. no blue fire from plug, i was told by a yamaha mechanic, no blue fire from plug it will not run, has to be blue, not orange or white looking fire.make sure carb is clean and all jets inside are clean, and air passage ways

85 virago 1000 breaks down rpm

I have a 95 yamaha virago with 12,000 miles on it. The tick is normal... The backfiring is not, back pressure is cuz of the drive shaft. I had a similar problem when cracking the throttle at a high rpm. check you plugs for fouling and gap. clean them and regap to around .030. sand inbetween the electrode and outer pin and the outer pin. if the electrode is shot replace them but remember to gap it. should fix your problem. good luck.
