Depends how stiif you want your fork to be, it goes from SAE 5 (very light) to SAE 30 ( very hard).
For engine oil, normally you can use mineral oil, if you have a bit more money best to use semi-synthetics. Cheers

Starter not working on my 1988 Kawasaki Ninja

Hi, Sounds like your starter motor has developed a fault. Sorry cant give you a price for the fix but if money is an issue i would take a look on ebay for a reasonably priced replacement unit.

How do i change a GPZ500s fork oil

You don't just top it up... replacing the oil consists of removing the forks, disassembly, cleaning, filling with an exact measured amount of the correct weight of fork oil, reassembly, reinstallation.
Doesn't sound like it's a job you should tackle - seeing as how you don't know where the oil goes, and all.
