Re: my carb just lets the gas pour straight through
You wil need to strip the carb down as the flote is stuck down and its not shutting off the flow of fule when its at the right level for the bike to run on ,,,you may need to replace the neadel velve as its flooding the carb

you probably let your bike sit for a while and your float is stuck in the carburetor,so try tapping lightly on the carburetor bowl at the bottom to see if it stops flowing .anyway it goes you probably looking at taking carburetor off and cleaning it out
What did the spark plug look like when you first took it out? Was it black/wet/sooty or was it a light tan/gray color. If it was black/sooty, then I would guess you need a coil. I know you said it had a good blue spark when you checked it, but if you poured a little bit of gas in the cylinder and it still wouldn't fire that would be my first place to check. If it ran briefly after you poured a bit of gas in the cylinder and then died, then it's a fuel supply issue. Remove the line that goes from the gas tank to the carb and make sure you have gas at the carb. If you have gas, then I would remove the carburator and take it apart making sure all the jets and passageways are clear. Use carb cleaner and an air attachment and if you still can't get it out, use a small wire to clear things up.
Reassemble and it should run, otherwise report back and we can go to the next step.
the inlet needle in your carb. may be worn or the float is not level that is if there is no dirt in the carb. or gum deposit go at a honda dealer buy a can of carb cleaner honda brand is the best let your parts soak a hour or two oh by the way a inlet needle cost about 30 dollars have fun
You need to take the carburetors off the machine and open them up. Pull the jets out, make sure they are clear and you can see through them. Squirt carburetor cleaner through the passageways in the carburetor body and blow the passageways out. That is where the carburetor dirt is hiding. Use genuine Honda carburetor cleaner . Gumout is too harsh for Keihin carbs. If you want to try to clean the carburetors without disassembly buy some Chevron Techron and pour it directly into the bowls. Let it sit over night. Drain your gas tank and follow the directions on the bottle to mix 1 gallon of gasoline in a shock treatment. Pour the shock treatment in the tank , start the bike, slowly take the choke off, and run it till it idles on it's own (usually 5-10 minutes). Be careful not to let the pipes get too hot or they may blue. Then take it for a 5-10 mile drive and fill the gas tank. If the carburetors are not too bad this should clean them up. Other wise you will have to take them apart to clean them properly.
Is this bike a two stroke or four stroke.Meaning do you mix oil n gas,or dose it run on straight gas .If this a two stroke, its normal to blow blue smoke, but not that bad.Sounds like the person before you put to much oil in gas or piston rings are shot. There are exact oil to gas ratios you must follow with a two stroke engine. If you dont, you can have all kinds of problems.
you need a carb clean. your float needle valve assambly is not functioning properly. could be something preventing the float needle from closing all the way.
if i remember rightly, the reserve on the vt bypasses the fuel pump and has flooded the carbs, the other problem you may have is a stuck float which has allowed the fuel to keep coming from the tank, overfilling the carbs, and because of the placement of the carbs between the"v" the fuel would have poured straight into the cylinder, past the piston rings and into the sump, just drain the oil out and replace with fresh oil, check the float levels in the carbs, but apart from that the engine should be fine...hope this helps
yes there is a tube that goes on it. It hangs straight down about an inch or two past the botom of the 4 wheelers frame. It is for a overflow of gas, which is usally caused by either dirt in the carb holding the float to high and allowing the gas to just run straight thru and out the bottom of the carb or a bent or maladjusted float setting. But since you said it just started, i would suggest this. I have fixed many and many bikes by simply removing the carb bottom and cleaning it with carb cleaner. It onlty takes a small piece of dirt between the float needle to keep the needle from making a good seat in the carb. Clean it well Please be carefull and keep the carb well away from your face as to not get any blowback of cleaner in your eyes(IT BURNS) This should fix your probblem
