As I Understand the, the KA has a 1300 cc Ford Cortina or Escort cast iron engine. Therefore the tappet adjustment is the same as always. Place the cylinder on TDC compression stroke and adjust the tappets on its paired cylinder. IE 1->4: 2->3: etc.

Testimonial: "Thanks for refreshing my memory , long time since did conventual tappets . Back in days of lapping in valves by hand."

How do I adjust the tappets on a 1986 1.6i ke laser

easy capri laser?? ford , 4cyl in line --- 1 down adjust 8 =9
1 down adjust 7 =9 and so on 8 down adjust 1 =9 whatever you adjust the numbers add up to 9 ,ford laser capri then tappet settings used to be something like 14 inlet and 18 exhaust but as no doubt the rocker fingers are worn and the push rod cups the 12 and 15 may be better

Valves in 2003 ford focus SE 2.3L are loose...how do I fix them?

I doubt if the valves are loose or need adjustment as the engine should have hudraulic tappets which adjust automatically when the engine is running. I suggest that your friend take off the rocker cover and see if anything is out of place. As the engine is 10 years old it is possible that the tappets may be badly worn and not working properly hence the noise

I havent changed the oil in my 95 chevy corsica in about 10 months.. now i hear a loud ticking sound from my engen what could it be and can it be fix easy?

Ticking sound may come from a loose or valve tappet with too much clearance. It can be easily adjusted by a mechanic.

Hi, i need to put water in my Ford Ka because the light is flashing and havent done it for a while. There are three tanks under the bonnet, one says power steering fluid so i assume its not that one. Then...

Hi, I'm not familiar with the Ka,but did the light go out after adding water? There are only 2 car fluids that are red. One is auto transmission fluid and one is a type of coolant. The transmission reservoir is in the pan, so I doubt you could have seen red fluid in the transmission without pulling up the dipstick. You can also try disconnecting the level sensor on the reservoir that you added water to. If the coolant light goes on and off when you short the terminals in that connector together (use a paper clip), then that is the coolant reservoir. My guess is you got it right.

Engine tappet clearances

According to http://freespace.virgin.net/tommy.sandham/databook.htm# Rocker Adjustment, the cold clearance is .008" intake/.018" exhaust in the non-GT 1500cc, and .012" intake/.022 exhaust on the GT. Sweet little car!!!
