Failed element most likely, particularly if the machine has had a lot of use. (There's not much in a dryer, beyond a motor / fan, belt, drum, timer and the heating element). A simple resistance check across the element will prove the failure of the element.

Dryer isnt getting hot

It appears that one or more safety limits have failed. You will need an OHM meter to determine which one has failed.

Dryer starts, runs 10 min. flame shuts off, ignitor comes on again, but gas value does not open. i have replaced the flame sensor, but still will not open gas value.

What's happening is them solenoids are getting hot and when they get hot they fail if they are a bit aged. Replace em and party on.

Dryer does not start. It is model LER7646EQ1. I replaced the heating coil about a month ago. In the past few days, when the dryer was running, the control panel seemed to get quite hot. The dryer even...

This sounds like several faults rather than one, but the likely original cause is the thermostat. Thermostats most often fail in the closed (on) position which would mean that the element was always on, rather than switching on and off when your dryer reached the correct temperature. This would explain why the control panel seemed hot.

This also explains why the dryer was stopping during the cycle. Your dryer is fitted with a thermal-fuse which trips and cuts power when the dryer gets too hot. However, a faulty thermostat doesn't usually stop the dryer running. A broken thermal fuse usually will.

From your description, I'd say you are definitely going to need a new thermostat, but I doubt if that's the only part you're going to need. You may well need a new thermal fuse and as the control panel got hot, this could have been damaged also.

I wouldn't buy any parts until you've inspected the control panel. You really need a service manual . but they are not usually available free. Failing that you're going to need some test equipment (Voltage & Ohm meters) to find the problem but if you don't know how to use them, it's definitely time to get an engineer.

I wouldn't advise buying any parts until you've investigated thoroughly - unless you can get them cheaply and return them if they aren't needed.

Gas dryer wont heat

Look for air restrictions and clean that up if any. Then inspect the dryer for failed components: e37536f.jpge82d1d0.jpg05795e2.jpg718f5ff.jpg

Whirlpool LER7646JQO Electric Dryer turns on, drum turning, runs for 3 to 5 minutes then clicks and shuts off. Smells like it is burning. No kink in hose vent or lint clogs.

Most dryers have more than one thermostat.

Most likely, the operating thermostat has failed, but the high limit thermostat is working and turns off the machine when it gets too hot. When it cools down it will start again and run briefly. If the high limit thermostat fails, the thermal fuse will permanently stop the dryer to prevent a fire.

Heat runs ten minutes than heat shuts off continues to run

I'm thinking the thermostat has failed, it get's too hot and the emergency over temp sensor kills the flame before a fire is started.
