Hi, Today suddenly my unicorn bike engine stopped on traffic signal. Didn't start after many attempts of kicking and electric starting. Also, kick is going very fast without resistance. I went to garage and he immedietely checked and told spark plug cap is shot now. But that locale garage is not having Honda unicorn spark plug cap so he installed Bajaj spark plug cap which is short in length compared unicorn's spark plug cap.
Should I continue using this Bajaj spark plug cap? What can be cause of old unicorn spark plug cap that got shot? Is that because of excessive kicking or excessive water by bike cleaner?
Well there is no problem continuing using the bajaj spark plug cap, this can probably happen due to hot from the engine, and the cap DISINTEGRATION.I advice you to use the bajaj cap see how long it last compare to your original unicorn cap.

It may be small fault. Check the list of things like
1. Spark plug check
open the spark plug while its connected to the wire and place it touching the engine(do not hold the plug or wire in hand) and kick start if you see the spark then its ok if not then replace it with a new one by checking it in ngkntk.in
2. Ignition coil
some times the fault is in ignition coil
3. carburettor tuning
look in youtube videos
4. magnet
my uncle has a Honda cb unicorn it kind of had the same problem after so many kick starts it used to start. I had checked everything it seem to be fine then I took it to my mechanic. It took some time to figure out that the magnet lock was broken, previous mechanic did that
5. smoke from silencer
piston is damaged, needs engine repair
6. If the problem is still there then take it to your nearest mechanic
Seized motor is not the first guess when your bike suddenly stops. First guess is electrical. Is the spark plug fouled? Spark plug wire damaged? did any of the wires for the starter, ignition, or electrical system break?
Then it's on to the fuel system. Does it have fuel? is it getting from the fuel tank to the carburetor? Is the carburetor in good working order?
Only if both of these things check out is guessing that there are internal engine issues reasonable. So If I were you I'd start there.
This problem may have many reason but you can try one of the solutions, when suddenly engine stops and kick rod is going smooth without resistance try push and start by directly in 2nd gear or 1st gear and after it starts keep the engine running by giving small revs for a min....
We have delt with these bikes for a few years now, heaps of possible causes starting with faulty side stand switches, spark plug caps up to failed/rusty pins on ECU's or complete wiring looms , take it to a bike shop like cycletreads and if we can't fixya Hyo, Guts, We'l sell ya a Yamahaha
coil lead plug cap needs replacing , no shield to protect spark plug from getting wet due to weather/water splash. electrical spray lubricant requires from damp start problem
hummm check your electrical connections make sure you have the stop run switch is in run position, you have fuel flow to the carb, make sure you are getting spark to the spark plug by using a extra spark plug remove the plug cap and ground it to the head and kick start the engine and see if you are getting spark to the plug. hope this helps
