The oil filter is located at the very front of the engine. It is below the battery, thus making it rather difficult to see. It is mounted in a horizontal position under the battery bracket.
First drain the oil from the engine by un-doing the oil drain plug at the bottom of the engines oil pan. Once most of the oil drains replace the oil filter. The oil filter on a Suzuki Boulevard c50
is located just below the gas tank on the right side of the motorcycle.
The oil filter is a round assembly that is typically black or chrome
and can be removed using an oil filter wrench. Put a bit of oil around the gasket on the new filter and screw it on tightly by hand. Put in the drain plug and fill the engine up with oil (check the oil level glass window with the bike in an upright position to make sure you have enough oil in the engine block)
Look at the front of the motor behind the front wheel. You should find it there. When you install a new one, put oil in it first and let it soak into the filter, then install. Replace the drain plug crush washer too. Every time you change the oil. Chaz Moto DC
actually the write up from ollie reese is not correct and is demontrated on a kawasaki. Though kaw is manufactured by suzuki, the motor shown is not the same. its is all correct however your oil filter is located and sticking out of the front side of your engine, just like a car oil filter. You cannot miss it. so drain oil from drain plud below, remove the oil filter(please note this will have oil in it and most likely spill so be prepared) and replace. now fill the oil where you find the black dipstick to factory set levels and ride away. good luck
Four or six cylinder engine and behind or front of the oil filter? Looked under my GV 2007 2.7 V6 and can not locate a shiny metal box next to the oil filter. Only thing that was shiny was the exhaust manifold and oil sump which are quite hard to break or puncture.
If it was the oil sump you will have to remove it and get it welded as a bog will not hold on heated engine parts.
Aerio oil filter is on the front side of the engine behind the lower engine cover remove the 2 push pins that hold the lower engine cover to gain access to the oil filter
