I have the same bike try this. Firstly check the fuel is fairly fresh, using premium fuel on this model seems to work well. drain a little fuel from each carb to remove poss water build up and get fresh fuel. if spark plugs over 6 months old or over 5000 miles change as zxrs` eat plugs a spark does not mean it is allways good. i have changed to irridium plugs and have not had problems since . before you take out plugs turn over the engine a few times then when you remove each plug they should be wet ,if one is dry no fuel so clean carb, remove plug caps before you do this and note exact location of each.good luck Bri.

I have a1980 gs 850. i have no spark at the plugs. someone said i should start at the CDI box? How can you test this?

  • Start with new spark plugs. Do you see spark? If not, check the side stand kill switch. It kills the engine so that you don’t start out with the side stand down. If broken or out of adjustment, it would kill the spark. Check for a broken wire at the side stand switch and coupler. Try moving the kill switch by hand. If that doesn’t work then wire a jumper around the switch to bypass it.
  • Check the fuses. How good is the battery? Is the handlebar kill switch on?
  • Check the operation of the ignition switch and all kill switches with a volt ohmmeter. Check the wiring harness. Did a wire come unplugged? Are all wires clean and with solid connections? Any abraded or pinched wires? Is the bike in neutral and the neutral light is lit up? If no neutral light, check the neutral switch and neutral switch wire on center casing.
  • Then, If still no spark, get CDI system and coils checked at the dealers shop.

Alri i was driving my kx250 and the engine died out on me an now it wont start atal

  • Drain the carb. It is probably filled with water that condensated in the gas tank.
  • Start with a new spark plug. Do you see spark? If not, check the side stand kill switch. It kills the engine so that you don’t start out with the side stand down. If broken or out of adjustment, it would kill the spark. Check for a broken wire at the side stand switch and coupler. Try moving the kill switch by hand. • Only twist the throttle one time in ten kicks. Extra gas gets pumped in on every twist of the throttle. Twist too often and flooding happens.
  • Check the fuses. How good is the battery? Is the handlebar kill switch on?
  • Check the operation of the ignition switch and all kill switches with a volt ohmmeter. Check the wiring harness. Did a wire come unplugged? Are all wires clean and with solid connections? • Got gas and is it turned on? Clean air filter?
  • Carb, head and intake manifold mounted tight?
  • Does the carb intake manifold have reeds? What condition are they in?

  • Start with a new spark plug. Now do you see spark? If not, check the side stand kill switch. It kills the engine so that you don’t start out with the side stand down. If broken or out of adjustment, it would kill the spark. Check for a broken wire at the side stand switch and coupler. Try moving the kill switch by hand. If that doesn’t work then wire a jumper around the switch to bypass it.
  • Check the fuses. How good is the battery? Try a jump start from your car battery.
• Are the fuses good?

No spark 110cc engine wont start

Check the fuses. Next, check for spark but with a new spark plug. How good is the battery? If needed, add water to the battery cells enough to cover the top of the cell plates.Try a jump start from your car battery. Is the kill switch on? Check the operation of the ignition switch with a volt ohmmeter. You should be getting power into and out of the ignition switch.

If the bike doesn't start and run properly check the side stand kill switch. It kills the engine so that you don’t start out with the side stand down. Broken or out of adjustment, it would kill the spark. Check for a broken wire at the switch or coupler. Get a service manual and check out the electrical section. Some bikes have a diode integrated into the turn signal relay. Try moving the kill switch by hand. If that doesn’t work then wire a jumper around the switch to bypass it. If that doesn’t work, check out the relay.

Check the wiring harness. Did a wire come unplugged? Are all wires clean and with solid connections? Any abraded or pinched wires? Is the bike in neutral and the neutral light is lit up? If no neutral light, check the neutral switch and neutral switch wire on center casing.

Is it Possible Tha Carburator Dirty Could cause The bike no Star

Yes, a dirty Carburetor can stop the engine from running.

Drain the carburetors. There should be a screw on the lower side of each CARB float bowl. Remove the screw then replace it after the fuel drains. Is there any water in the gas? Remove the water trap bowl at the bottom of the petcock, (gas valve). Is there any water or trash in the bowl? Drain a cup of gas from the tank. Is there any water or trash in the cup? Dump it, clean it and re-mount it, (not all bikes have a water trap bowl). Turn the gas back on and wait a minute for the carbs to fill with gas. Try to start the engine. If the bike doesn't start and run properly then shut off the gas and remove the carburetors from the engine.

FOR EACH CARB > Remove the float bowl and clean the entire
Carb with a spray Carb cleaner from the auto parts store. Wear protective goggles to avoid getting spray in your eyes. Spray into all the little airways and fittings in the Carb.

FOR NO SPARK > Check the fuses. Next, check for spark but with a new spark plug. How good is the battery? Is the kill switch on? Does the side stand have a kill switch? Is it working properly? Tip-over kill switch on your bike? Check the operation of the ignition switch and all kill switches with a volt ohmmeter.

Check the wiring harness. Did a wire come unplugged? Are all wires clean and with solid connections? Any abraded or pinched wires? Is the bike in neutral and the neutral light is lit up? If no neutral light, check the neutral switch and neutral switch wire on center casing. If still no spark, get CDI system and coils checked at the dealers shop.

Is the kill switch on? Does the side stand have a kill switch? Is it working properly? Tip-over kill switch on your bike? Check the operation of the ignition switch and all kill switches with a volt ohmmeter.
Are all wires clean and with a solid connections? Check the loom. Any abraded wires? Is the bike in neutral and the neutral light is lit up? If no neutral light, check the neutral switch and neutral switch wire on center casing. With a little luck this will get you back on the road.
