Sounds like a passageway may still be clogged. I suggest that you try dipping it in carb solution for a couple of hours, then rinse and blow out everything.
every four wheeler I've ever worked on has the ignition timing fixed and controlled by the CDI. Mechanical timing usually invovles lining up the T on the flywheel with a mark on the cam shaft. you'll need a service manual for more specifics.
You need to inspect all gas lines for obstructions including the gas tank , and especially the carb. I can bet dollars to doughnuts that it's a fuel problem something is blocking the fuel and by rocking it it's allowing the fuel to go through. hope this helps , let me know how you make out . Adam J
when engines not running turn the gas off . And it sounds like you need to adjust your throttle pin that goes into the carb take the clip off the pin and move it down one good luck
