It could be a rich mixture. look on the carb and you'll see a screw ( straight head ) this is the air mixture screw. try turning it out a quarter of a turn and see how it runs. out = more air in = more petrol causing black soot on plug. you will notice lots of smoke out of the back if your oil mixture is too high. 32/1 will be fine and change your spark plug instead of cleaning old one

My 1981 yamaha exciter 185 dies when i put it in gear i've already tried adjusting clutch still dies. was running fine for prior 3 months

The bike will either have a side stand cut out switch or a clutch cut out switch.

Both these will make the bike die when the side stand is down or the clutch is not pulled in

Spark plugs fouling

black soot is overfueling. And as it is a trail bike operating in dirt and mud conditions I would be looking at changing the air filter first. Change to a hotter plugs may help (select plugs up in the heat range ). Check reason for extra fuel ( choke flapping on or float level )

Is the breather pipe on crank case suppose to leake oil smoke from the case side of the elbow

That can mean there is high blow-by internally in the engine. It can also mean an internal leak from a crack in the block, cylinder wall, piston, piston ring, ect.
How does it run? I have seen some older bikes "blow" a little but keep a close eye on oil level and check spark plugs for heavy fowling.

Bike was in an accident, need to replace the ignition switch assembly. Don't know what to do. it's a 2004 kawi ninja zx636

The ignition switch comes as you quite rightly say as a module/assembly. It is connected by one multiplug. Just buy a new switch and plug it in.
Hope that helps.

Plugs filed out bike runs ruff. keeps filing out everytime i put new ones in

plugs fowl out for two main reason either they get flooded with fuel because of choke problems or oil caused by worn rings or bad valves. should have this looked at by a shop.
