Carbs sputtering and misfireing on Shadow Spirit VT750 2005

An engine never misfires due to these things. It is always because of maladjustment of the timing at the CB points. Check the timing and set it right.

Is there a way to rejet the carb and install and after market exhaust to increase the power?

yes buddy you do technically when an after market exhaust is installed your ment to rejet the carb anyway its very simple to do just take the bowl off the carb and in the middle is the main jet you simply unscrew this and put the new one in but you have to find out what size jet you have in there now and go to the next size up say its a 140 you will go to a 150 etc buddy this picture will help you7685d47.jpg

Rejetting a Yamaha Vstar 650

No it will not. You probably don't NEED to rejet at all. If the manufacturer suggests it for your bike and pipe combination I would follow their advice. If they do not suggest it I would use a dyno to get the best performance from your new setup. Keep in mine your new exhaust only lowers the back pressure. You haven't changed the intake parameters at all as far as airflow. So any additional air going into the cylinders due to your new exhaust will only be because of the reduced volume in the cylinder while the intake valve is open. This is a rather small amount, so don't get all crazy and jump several jet sizes at once.

Exhaust getting hotter than normal

when you installe new pipes you lost some back pressure this means you engine is now breathing better and so you need to adjust your carbs by rejetting to a richer jet.

Fuel question

I replied...Then he went on to tell me I have to get the bike rejetted...On cars you only rejet carberators...How do I rejet/configure my bike if I decide to get exhaust and intake? on a fuel injected bike you get a fuel mapper (kinda like putting a chip in a car) cobra makes a decent one that's reasonably priced. it changes the parameters in your ecu to accomodate the pipes and intake,
