Have a problem with my runner 200 vxr....gets to 65mph & like runs out of petrol. but chimes back in & runs fine. just wont go over 65mph?...someone has put a 125 carb on. but i have uped them main jet to 1.20 (the 125 has a 1.07). but this has not cured the problem...do i need the 200 carb????

Is your speedometer cable driven or electronic? If its cable driven, its off the front wheel and either the cable is broken or the gears in the wheel are broken. Electronic...its dealership time.

Remove the air filter, cut the gas off, drain the carb float bowl.

That should fix it!!

its sounds like its the rollers in the drive system...they wear flats on them!!...& this is why you wont have drive...it will be trying to like set off in 2nd gear insted of 1st....should be farily easy to sort...& not that expensive

have a look at the starter switch it mat be stuck in or there is a short in it holding the starter on, it could also be a relay stuck on, if its a relay change it, running the engine with the starter still engaged will reck it

their should be a gold nipple on the inlet manifold that pipe should be on that nipple get back 2 me my fend

hi,,your carb wont do...its not big enuf airflow..but .the main jet for a vxr200 is a 1.18 or 1.20 (the 125 main jet is a 1.07).
i am haveing the same probs with a vrx 200 i bought..they run fine up 65mph & then seem to run out of fule...but chime back in when drops below 65mph..i have put the bigger main jet in & it doesnt make no diffrance..the carb carnt get enuf air to go above 65mph..carb of a 180-200 will sort it out but it may still need rejeting to suit big bore kit!!....also there is the carb of the dna 180 scooter as well.....good look..Howard

Sounds like you have no Torque converter lock up function. The wiring connector for T/C lockup solenoid must have been disturbed or the solenoid is bad. No lock up will make a 200 RPM difference in high gear
