I have a 2003 Calif. EV. I left the bike for 2 weeks and found the battery was completely dead. I replaced it and when I turned it on the fuel pump made a different sound. The bike started and I drove it home from the storage unit. I left it sit for about 1 hour and then went to start it up again it turned over but did not start. I think the fuel pump was not operating when I turned on the ignition. Also, when I was driving back to my home (approx. 2 miles), the tachometer was jumping around.

Check your connections with your battery, you probably disturbed or incompletely put your battery cables on. Any chance you accidentally hooked the battery up backwards for a second? I would check your fuses...

New battery fitted but no ignition lights no power to starter, all lights indicators fuel pump works all fuses look fine can you help 2003 ev 1100 cali moto guzzi tom haggan

Hello, i haven't worked on but a few Guzzi's, but it sounds like you may have a ground issue. I would check for voltage at the ignition switch, relays & fuses. If no voltage there, check the main battery to frame ground. Then start with a continuity test from the battery to circuit box & continue until you find where the break is.... Some of these bikes, like the sport model, have 2 batteries, so if yours does, make sure that both are good....I hope this helps some.

Just replaced the battery on 1995 honda prelude. Alternator checked out fine. 2 weeks later came out of work and the car would not start. Battery would not turn over. Could this be fuel pump relay? ...

The fuel pump relay has nothing to do with your engine cranking/turning over. If your battery is dead, you may have gotten a bad battery, it happens. It also depends on what type of battery you got. Walmart, Deka, and advance auto batteries have some problems. IF your battery checks good, it is most likely your starter, or wiring to starter. If your battery is dead, but recharges good, you have a drain issue, you left something on, or the alternator is not putting out enough amps. You may be getting proper voltage, but no amps.
