Hi, I?ve got an 88 K75S which runs well but when cold has problems starting. My local mechanic has had a look and can?t find the problem. The battery was changed 3 months ago, new plugs have recently been fitted and the injectors cleaned, but I still end up starting the bike pushing it down the hill. Can any one give me any advice?

Your BMW75 has a cold start sensor fitted to its fule system the choke leaver dose nothing but raze the reves a little its not a choke,,,thats withing the fule system if the sensor is not working right it wont tell the fule pump to enrich the fule mix and it will be hard to start from cold,,also if you start the bike up you must run it till its hot or the choke will stay on and flood up the engine the next time you try to start up
the choke sensor is in the water jaket, try changing this part first

Electric golf cart won't run on cold mornings. I hear solenoid click but nothing happens. When the temp warms up, it runs normal. I replaced controller, solenoid, speed control and ITS & switch.

Depends on how cold it's getting outside. Cold weather is ******* a battery. Try load testing your batteries. That "clicking" noise makes me believe that it's trying to start, but it's not pulling enough amps. Considering everything that you've already replaced, I would start there. Assuming you've already made certain all of your connections are good. Also, make sure the ground wire for your electrical system is good. Not loose, corroded, etc...
You can even call the local golf course and ask to speak to the golf cart mechanic. I would get several calls a week from drivers when I worked as a diesel mechanic.

Check the Mass Air Flow Sensor, you can get a can of cleaner specific for cleaning them for a couple bucks at the parts store. I'd just get 1 and clean the sensor see if that works. The MAF sensor is either in the throttle body itself (bolted on from the outside or in the air line between the filter and throttle body. That could be the whole problem right there. Good luck.

One mechanic believes the throttle control module is bad. He notes the car is staying in a higher gear. Which is what it drives like but it is intermittent. The air conditioning fan quit blowing and the...

Hi, Your mechanic could be right. Sounds like the engine is running too fast for transmission to shift properly. Have him look it over. Good luck.

MY BMW 318I 88/89 MODEL WILL NOT START IN THE MORNING ONLY IF I RUNNING START IT,AND SOMTIMES IN THE EVENING. CAN YOU PLEASE HELP ME WITH THIS MATTER.BRUCE

Hi Bruce
Take the vehicle for a scan and I'm fairly sure the fault will be recorded as a defective temperature sensor. Once that is replaced I think the problem will be solved. What happens is the sensor signals the injection system to allow more fuel for starting when cold and at the moment it can't know if the engine is hot or cold, so it injects for an engine at operating temp. (When cold the engine needs more fuel to be able to start)

I have a Ford BroncoII 88 2,9 V6, changed 2 fuel pumps but still have problems starting when motor is cold, looks like not enough gas is coming trough, I have to accelerate a little and then motor is...

It may be equipped with a cold start injector. This injector spray extra fuel when the motor is cold to allow normal startup. I'm not too familiar with this vehicle but I had a similar problem on an 88 camaro and it turned out to be a faulty cold start injector.

Engine starts, but won't stay started unless I step on the gas.

It sounds like to me your mechanic recommened you change your timing belt and water pump due to a maintance issue. If vehicle still runs good with old timing belt new belt wont change running. Cold weather and low cranking amps (poor battery) will cause starting problems.
