This could be a result from a couple of different things however if your vibration is at idol and has and keeps getting worse it is proably one of the motor mounts. These can very difficult to see so if you remove one there is a thin lip above the rubber and metal bracket and if that is not there then the mount is no good
yes i would like to add one more thing to make sure we are on the same page is that if this vibration is really only when moving and you have spoked wheels make sure you check them all for tightnest and if more then one is loose you will have to have the wheel trued and laced again good luck
Well i would hate to see you do that, you know trade for metric. Now back to your problem, like i had said before it is very difficult to see a bad motor mount if you don't know what to look for? To remove one is not very hard,so heres how to do the back one.You will want a block of wood between your jack and tranny, bring jack up to bottom of tranny and snug it up ,don't lift just hold, you will have to remove exhaust and it is much easyier to remove the whole exhaust rather than the muffler. You will have to replace the crush washer to reassemble. Now go mount and remove frame side bolts first, then tranny side those bolts are self tapping and suggest you replace them. These mounts are very difficult to tell if they are bad so look at them very closely and maybe bring to a shop to have them looked at.When you go to put together start the tranny bolts first leave loose then start frame side, you may have to use a long punch and or move jack up or down to line up.The torque is 21-27 ft/lbs .They say that a broken mount will make it feel like your riding a rodeo horse good luck

I'd check the motor mounts. The front mount is easy to get to but the rear isn't quite so easy. I'd check the front mount and the top engine stabilzer.
I assume that you've owned this bike long enough to know how it should feel. The Dyna series has rubber engine mounts. They do a very good job of dampening engine vibration once the engine gets up in it's rpm range. When the engine is idling, the vibrations can be felt then. When accelerating, you can feel some vibration but it should be bad.
Check your engine mounts and your primary chain adjustment. If it's something to do with the fuel system, I'm afraid that a dealer is going to have to check that for you. Good Luck!
Your bike is equipped with the TC88 engine, not the TC88B engine that is in the softail. I think they went to the 96" engine is '06 or '07. The fact remains that the "regular" Twin Cam engine is not counterbalanced like the Twin Cam "B" engine is. There are no counterbalances in your engine.
LIke I said, any Dyna series bike will vibrate when idling but should smooth out nicely once the rpm comes up above 1500-2000 rpm. It shoud accelerate smoothly as well. Since the Harley shop in your areas says the bike is normal, it would be worth the time and effort to take the bike to a different shop and have one of the mechanics ride the bike. Don't tell them anything about the other shop, just ask them to ride it and see if it feels "normal" to them. I own a 1994 Dyna Wide Glide and I love it. Smooth as glass going down the road and accelerating.
Does the bike sound like it's running on one cylinder when accelerating? I've seen that happen, we call it "one-lunging". Since your bike is fuel injected, are there any codes showing up on the computer? Has the bike had any aftermarket fuel or ignition system parts installed? Have you checked the exhaust pipes to see if they're loose? They don't bolt to the frame since the engine is rubber mounted. They used to have this little bracket coming off the transmission case. Check that to see if it's loose or broken. Check the tension on the primary chain.
I'd love to help you but I don't know anything about Harley's fuel control system. They guard that knowledge closely. Personally, I'm still putting my money on a motor mount somewhere. For the life of me, that's all I can think of right now.
Like I said, Ireplaced the front motor mount, The Compensator, Removed the Clutch Basket-has some looseness in rivets in starter ring, Retorqued clutch baskett, adjusted primary chain, checke engine alighnment,. Shakes handle bars and floor boards at idle, up to 3500 rpm. Seems worst since I converted it from 2 wheel to a 3 wheel Trike by Frankenstein Fuzzy57

thanks for the input...bike is smooth coasting at 70 with clutch held...vibration in engine and increases with rpm...tires have been balanced and checked for runout..none found..have loosened mounts and resettled engine...if this was a v-8 chevy I would say the balancer was bad...harley shop says bike is normal, but has gotton worse in last 6 to 10k miles...ready to trade for SUZUKI..haha thanks again
