Hi and welcome to FixYa,

Jet size would depend which carb is installed, a Dellorto 34mm?

Initially, check the sparkplug tip colors. If very light brown to almost whitish, then lean mix; too much air, too little gas. Try raising the needle if if has notches and moving the e-clip. If fixed, use small thin washers. The basic idea is to make the needle rise early on throttle movement.

If an aftermarket open breather air filter is installed, then it would be causing the lean mix, too much air. Restrict the filter by adding temporarily upholstery foam to experiment at which thickness the flatspot would disappear.

Good luck and thank you for asking FixYa. Happy Holidays.

Aprilia rs 125 won't start!!

right you done quite a bit, so whats left, fuel seems ok .. so ht lead ht cap, spark plugs dont always come with right gap, any leaks with airflow either side of carb, remember the filter often acts as a restrictor too. try the putting a small amount of fuel in cyclinder after cleaning plug, should atleast get a backfire, is choke setup ok, carb mix if not factory sealed is generally 1 and 3/4 turns out from tight,

Yamaha xs 650 I am having problems with flat spots during acceleration. I tried new spark plugs, but have not gotten any results. I believe it is an improper jet setting. I live in kansas city and need...

Hello unless some one has changed the jets the original jets are standard the thing to do i suggest first check for intake leaks at the carb joints between the head and carbs run the bike and use WD40 spray arounf the joints if the rpm's change you have a intake leak.
Also a carb cleaning and carefully inspect the carb slide diaphragms for cracks and pin holes.
replace as needed carb joints is hardened or cracked gaskets Etc.

Aprilia habana cutting out and starting problems

Did you clean the pilot & main jets in the carb & set the float height to standard? There is also an over flow in the carb which should stop fuel flooding into the air filter - did you check?
Make sure there are no splits in the fuel pipes & the smaller vacuum pipe that goes from the side of the auto fuel tap, also check pipes connect well
By your description it sounds like the carb is filling very slowly, 1 bowlful would get you around 2 miles & then plug would be dry when trying to start it, leaving it overnight the carb would fill up & flood air filter due to a leaky fuel tap

Loss of power pulling away in first gear. have to rev nuts off it. any ideas?

Howdy: It sounds like the 1/3 of the needle jet is not working . Could be clogged. If the bike run good in 3/4 to full throttle then for syre it's the jet. Does it idle? Was the bike not ridden for a long peroid? Also check the input air! Need a little more info. Did this problem start all at once or slowly get worse? Doug

S reg aprilia rs 125 derestrited misfires between 5500 and 7200rpm then takes off like a rocket its a 122 with 28mm carb starts and idles great checked jet in bowl bolt says 120 cdi bin cut power valve...

You have upset the air fuel flow by changing the exhaust, I would try placing a piece of paper over the air filter to change the intake first, to see what happens, then if that doesn't work, you will need to rejet, and sometimes the factory setting won't work, so you will need an adj jet, Find an aftermarket for your carb I think dyno tune has one. They work great. I hope this helps.
