There is a screw on the side of the float bowl near the bottom edge. Just remove the screw. Please rate my answer. Thanks.

There is an alternative method to empty out the carb. Put the petrol tap on the tank to off position. Give full throttle and crank the engine. After three four times of cranking, the engine will start. And then you can open the tap on the fuel tank. This is without getting your hands greased up.
The greasing variety is that you loosen the bolt that is there at the bottom of the carb. And tighten it when it is drained.

I have a 2010 ninja 250r, i just bought it with 118 miles on it, the bike starts but doesnt seem to run right, when i try to go in first it boggs out, also it will bogg if i give it some gas when its in...

If it sat for a while that could be your problem with the carbs. Its what it sounds like to me. How long was it sitting before you got it? It could also be that your air fuel ratio is off.

Having trouble keeping it running. It will run and then half way down the street, stall out, wait a few minutes it will start again. Then stall again. Could it be bad gas, or something with the spark...

If condensation in the gas tank makes it into the carbs, the float bowls will trap the water. Too much water and the bike will act as you have described. Drain the carb float bowls. With a little luck you will be back on the road.

No. 1 carburator loads up only when idleing or low rpms clears up once you open up throttle a time or two. took it off sprayed with carb cleaner still the same problem help please. 2000 ninja 9r e1

how's the plug look, float could be stuck, or hieght not set correctly. tab on float is bent leaving the fuel needle open slightly, or check synchroization of all 4 carbs and the choke linkage to all 4 carbs. choke could be full or partially turned on for that carbs .
good luck

Will only start with direct feed or starter fliud

Hi and welcome to FixYa,

If after the "...start with direct feed or starter fliud...", the bike will idle / run correctly, then it is not a carb problem. If will not idle / run correctly, then a carb problem.

Initially, it would appear that the problem would be restricted fuel flow from the tank through the petc0ck (fuelcut off valve). A way to check is to drain carb bowls individually, compare quantity and quality of fuel from each. Guesstimate if the collected / drained fuel is about right for the bowl size.

If on the otherhand, it is a carb issue (float closing early hence too little fuel in the bowl), then a carb pulldown maybe required. The illustration here would give you an exploded parts diagram.

This CV carb tuning procedures may interest you.

Good luck and thank you for asking FixYa.

ok i have one and i just fixed mine you need to drain the fuel from bottom of carbs and drain the tank also. then replace the spark plugs once you do that add new fuel in tank and drain the carbs again unitil good fule start runing out then shut them off. aftre that make sure there are two line connected to the petcock from the carb. spray soem starting fluid in the air box and chock it boom it will start. if it has spark.

2006 Kawasaki Ninja 250 will not start

Hi and welcome to FixYa,

Your post "engine will not turn start", are you referring to the starter motor not turning or is it cranking but will not run?
  • if no crank, check the starter relay;
  • will not run, verify that there is spark at the end of the plugs;
  • will not tun, verify that there is fuel in the bowl of the carb (drain again);
  • if it has a fuel valve, set to PRI.
Incidentally, any clicking sound when you press START? Pls postback updates.

Good luck and thank you for using FixYa.
