Car jerks when slowing down or stopped, car using excessive amounts of oil, check engine light blinks, have not taken car for tune up for about 15k miles, air filter dirty
You said it all. When a car jerks it means it is not firing as expected which could be due to fuel pressure not adequate, air intake not enough or too much, sparks not been produce at the right time or engine management problems (sensors etc). from what you said i would start with locating the source of the oil consumption. If there is visible oil around the engine, this might not be cause of the jerking. If the oil leaks is not visible it could be due to cylinder\piston wear. Dirty air filter, spark plugs, plugged fuel filter and bad spark plug cable could also cause jerking so you might want to consider giving your car a tune up also
