My derby gp1 open 50cc.when you put revs on dies and its getting worse.changed plug and cleaned air filter.

Initially, check for:

  • color of burn tips of sparkplug; if very light brown to almost whitish, then lean. Check for an air leak;
  • if black, sooty, then rich, check for a vacuum leak or oil/gas mix proportion.

start at 2 turns out from lightly seated run it see how it idles and revs and adj from there by 1/2 turns a 90 degree screwdriver really comes in handy for this job

Water getting into carb

The water comes from condensation inside the gas tank. Keeping the tank full of gas will help a lot. Keeping the bike indoors and warm will help even better. Condensation forms on a cold can of Coke. The same happens inside a cold gas tank. Please rate my answer. Thanks.
