Most chilton or haynes repair manuals have both vacuam as well as wirring in back of book or go to local library and down load it there.

Switch does not illuminate and four wheel drive won't engage in either hi or low.

wiring or electric motor prob or it could be vacum line prob too.

Need to know how vacume lines hook up to front axle and transfercase on a 1990 jeep wrangler.

there should be 3 plastic lines tha hook to the actuater.mine has a slip on rubber that has 2 of the lines that go together then you have a single line that is just that simple.

1990 jeep yj 4 wheel drive issues

what are you trying to say is that the front wheels wont engage?? if this is your problem? check the actuater on the passenger side axle there are 3 lines that go to it and that is what pulls it in and pushes it out of gear by air.

Vacuum lines for 4 wheel drive

if you look under the Jeep on the passenger side of the front axle you will see a vacume mod its kind of round shaped it should have a vacume plug on it wit ha few hoses going into it make sure its plugged in for starters these come off all the time if it looks good here simply follow the lines into the engine compartment and look for broken hose this should get you a fix most of the time, the mod could be defective but not likely.
